First thing's first: if you already own a Switch 1 pro controller this is just an even better version of that, not really necessary unless you want / need an extra controller on top of that. 
What it lacks in new features or innovation it makes up in excellent design, comfortable feel and grip, and the absolute best D pad for playing the many retro games available on NSO. For games like Mario Kart World the extra programmable buttons in the back of the grips make things such as aiming your weapons possible with the right analog stick while not letting go of the gas. (To assign the function of these buttons just hold down the home button while your game is running, it'll remember the setting for that user for each individual game, an awesome and convenient feature). 
The buttons feel great and high quality, as do the analog sticks, I don't lose my grip on them during heated play and they feel quite durable and comfortable. 
Only downside is the high asking price, I say it's worth it but that's subjective, naturally. If you want a sturdier, more reliable, more comfortable, and definitively superior controller to the Joycons you can't go wrong with this.

Best controller I've used in quite awhile

MASSIVE upgrade over the joy cons. There's a slick matte paint that feels nice to the touch. The battery life lasts forever; the ps5 controller is barely holding on for a night whereas this bad boy is going on for days. The d pads and joysticks are positioned kind of like the xbox controller layout and honestly I think it's really comfortable to use it this way.  I'm not a fan of the two G buttons on the back of the handles (GL and GR) but they're there if you care for macro buttons.

Goodbye Joycon drift

Love this controller. Excellent quality, very quiet, very comfortable, with a nice finish. If you're on the fence due to the extra cost, know that you're paying for a controller that is a nice improvement over the Switch 1 controller, and I think it's even nicer than the standard PS5 and Xbox controllers.

Excellent Quality Controller!

I ordered this for my Switch 2 after a year of owning the Pro controller from the Switch 1.  And with this controller, this one's great!  Not only does the Switch 2 Pro controller feel nice, but the GL/GR buttons alongside the added audio dock makes this one feel like a step up.  Glad to have upgraded to this controller and recommend others looking into doing the same if they ever have the chance!

Switch 1 Pro controller user's review

Got this before I even got my Switch 2 and glad I did. Got it to play Donkey Kong Bananza when it came out (figured I'd have a S2 by then) and so far it's great. Feels good in your hand with the right texture, Smooth with like a felt feel (best way to describe it) so it feels comfortable. Also like that you can map the 2 back buttons (which I still haven't done...lol). The battery life is great as well. Now to just find a charging dock for it and I'll be all set, Because having to have the cord attached to charge gets annoying.

Great feeling control

The new switch 2 pro controller compliments the new switch 2 perfectly!

The build quality is definitely better and the ergonomics feel slightly better than the last iteration. Also there are back buttons now too, making it a true “pro” controller.

It's well worth the money if you consider the offerings from Xbox and PlayStation

Great Controller for Switch 2!

The analog sticks feel absolutely amazing. Easily one of the best, if not the best on the market. I know that sounds crazy, nintendo made an actual good controller/product. Look i'm not a Nintendo  fanboy, or a Nintendo glazer, but it is genuinely a pretty good feeling product. It feels premium. The d-pad is pretty good, the buttons feel good, it's not too heavy physically.
It looks good everything about the controller is good except repairability, repairability is horrible. If you don't plan on opening it up and changing out the shell, then you're fine. Kind of it does not use hall effect sticks, so it will eventually drift. It will take a little bit longer, but it will eventually drift. If you're a person that is not comfortable with taking stuff apart or does not know how to then. I would not recommend it completely. It's still a good product, but repairability, wise it is pretty bad. It also only works on the Nintendo, switched 2 not the original switch and for anyone who has PC it does work wired.But can be somewhat of a pain. Overall, a good product, just repairability, is not the greatest. the battery is amazing. It lasted me about a week and a half with daily use before it died. Best part is i charged it for 3 hours  and the battery was completely max so battery is fantastic. the charging cord, that comes with it is a USB to C Port. which makes sense, because the doc for the switch 2 uses USB on the side. The controller is overpriced, but then again, that's Nintendo. If you see it for 89, don't buy it. If you see it for 80, buy it 85, think about it.

Good controller, horrible repairability.

For the $84.99, I would not recommend this controller. I got an 8bitdo Ultimate2 (Bluetooth) for half the money, and it has better buttons, joysticks, and matter mapable buttons on the back than the Switch 2 Pro controller. The official one only comes with 2 mappable buttons on it. The Switch 2 Pro controller is something I would recommend at its current price of $69.99, rather than the original price of $84.99. I would look at other options; it does not keep the Switch 1 controller (if you have it)

Good, just not for the current Price of 84.99

Ridiculously expensive for what it is. It's too small to hold comfortably and I have small hands. The only difference between this and the original switch pro controller is the stupid c button but you have to pay to use. But if you need a controller to wake your switch 2 up you have to buy this. Which is stupid because they could have just given the other controllers that functionality. Way to inconvenience your customers and do a cash grab, Nintendo. It does have the soft touch feel but that's the only thing it has going for it. If there is a cheaper third party option you can use instead, I'd encourage you to do that.

Overpriced and overhyped

It's a really well built and feeling controller. But for how expensive it is, the D-Pad being sub-par is incredibly disappointing. Nintendo *invented* the D-Pad and is known for their fantastic 2D platformers, which the Nintendo Switch has many of. Incredibly disappointing I ultimately cannot recommend this controller when cheaper ones exist with a far superior D-Pad.

If you're *absolutely sure* you're never going to touch the D-Pad and are fine paying the high price tag for a controller with one function of it pretty poor, then sure, go for it. Otherwise pick up an 8BitDo controller.

Terrible D-Pad Ruins An Otherwise Great Controller

Gone are the days of durable accessories. $90 is a ridiculous price for something like this to be so fragile. It fell off the couch (unplugged) and the charging port no longer worked. I had it for less than 2 weeks. 
Sure, it felt nice to hold but not worth it.
