Ive used the Nioxin system 2 since about 2006. The product really does work very well. Without this system of shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment, I believe I'd have lost all my hair. I highly recommend this if you want your hair to be thicker and healthier. If youre hair is thinning, I also recommend using it with specific vitamins and or prescription medication that promotes hair growth.

This stuff actually works.  I'm a 69 year old woman who used to have great hair, but not so much anymore.  I started using Nioxin 2 (shampoo AND conditioner) a few years ago.  I'm not saying it works overnight, but when I go to get my hair trimmed, the stylist comments on how there is a lot of new growth going on.  I got the leave-in conditioner last week and am very happy with  how it leavers my hair.  Fuller, shinier...seriously...this Nioxin system in general is great.  The initial outlay a lot (for me) but it lasts forever and it works.

If your hair has gone wimpy, use this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not a huge fan of the smell. It smells of chemicals but, it does wonders on my hair. It doesn’t make my hair feel greasy after use. It doesn’t burn my scalp which others have. It appears to be working as I haven’t found any grey hairs. It’s easy to apply and in my opinion it works great. Just not the best smell

I would not say it miracle product but I am sure if consistent it will show result as in my case it took me a month to see the difference. This is light weight with black oat peptides niacin-amide and caffeine. It helps to revitalise hair from root and improve hair density. Smells fresh and clean with healthier and fuller looking hair.

I have been using Ultimate Power Serum for years with great results.  I understand Nioxin  changed it to Fall Defense Serum.  I'm not sure if the ingredient are the same but I really do not like the new. smell.  I stock up so I did not notice the change until I opened my new bottle I purchased in December 2025.

I started using the nioxin hair serum last night before bed the fragrance was overpowering but I did it
Then woke in morning to itching so I rinsed out hair an tried again since it said twice a day
I went about my morning as usual trying to get used to fragrance but it is overpowering seemed to be bothering my eyes and nose , that was all I can smell and the itching started again 
So now I looked it up and it says the following ::

some  side effects reported:

* scalp irritation
* dryness
* itching
* temporary increased shedding

especially if they have sensitive skin or are already dealing with medical hair loss.  

Or before that your hair loss is related to illness and treatments, your scalp may be more sensitive than average. I would suggest:

* stopping if you get burning, intense itching, rash, or major shedding

So at this point I can not continue with it
Spent the money now wasted and another thing I can not use
Very disappointed
