Ease Of Installation

Design Concept

I used a competitive product for a while, but after a year the suction cup mechanism broke and the mount just bounced around while I drove. I saw the Steelie system, liked the robustness of the design and bought my first one. I was immediately impressed with how well it was constructed and how simple it was to set up and use. My wife saw it and wanted one for her car. She's also very pleased with it.

Fast forward several months and my company is getting ready to do a demonstration where we were doing a live drive to show people our platform and app for effectively eliminating distracted driving. Without hesitation I bought 3 more Steelie mounts to place in the demo vehicle to hold phones so we could maximize the audience with each drive. They performed perfectly. In fact, several of the participants asked about them and indicated that they were going to get one for their car. And, one of my colleagues asked about them as well and plans to make a purchase for his and his wife's cars.

Hold On!

I have the steelie ball mounted to my dash, just under my A/C vent and left of my radio. Its very convenient to slap my smartphone on my dash and go. If i need the GPS, its right there (no stupid suction cup to block my view) and can easily plug it into power or my radio. Its a super strong magnet, yet hasnt affected my phone at all. it swivels easily, so i can easily see my phone without glare. The magnet attached easily to my phone case (low profile, wont snag pockets). Will probably put another steel ball in my wife's car for when we travel. Its all very secure. Not sure how the vent mount would work, but Im VERY happy with the dash mount. I HIGHLY recommend.

Steelie Dash Mount Kit

My 5th truck that I have installed the das mount on. Sold my last truck to my brother and he loved it so much that he insisted on keeping it to use for himself. Had the ball in my jeep as well holds everything secure. Low profile and works like a dream.

Low profile and works like a dream

This is the best thing I have used and seen, in along time. It holds my iPod on my vibrating Harley with no problem.Doesn't move at all when most bolts vibrate off.. love it..

This is the best thing I have used and seen, in along time.

I bought my first Steelie mount two years ago for my iPhone 6. A few weeks ago I bought a Steelie vent mount for my iPhone 8 Plus and it's rock solid! Love it.

The only phone mount I want to use

The Orbiter Kit is fantastic! A thin metal disk mounts to the back of your phone (or case) — it adds almost nothing to the thickness of the phone. The Orbiter disk magnetically “sticks” to the “ball” of either your vent kit or dash kit. You put your phone near the Orbiter disk and it's mounted and ready to go — it's just that easy. The Orbiter allows your phone to swivel in any direction so you get a good viewing angle on the screen. A gentle tug unstick your phone. The Steelie magnets will NOT erase your phone's data or settings.

Orbiter Kit

The product is good. It could be more specific in the instructions to let the adhesive set for 24 hours.

Installation Instructions Lacking

I purchased my set to use in my car for my smart phone. The strong magnet and simple installation made it easy to get started. After about six months of use the rubber gasket inside the desk that attaches to the phone became smooth and the phone will not stay upright on The wall mount. Sometimes gravity pulls it to the left or the right but it always pulls it down so that the phone no longer stays in the position I choose for it to stay. I had written the review three months ago I would have given it five stars. Six months in it still has a strong magnet but the rubber gasket seems to need to be replaced. Now it's just more of a hassle to use

Expensive for the lifespan

This is the 2nd set I have and also have the permanent mount in my other car. They work very well just disappointed with the vent mounts. The clip holding them on broke after 6 months. I think it's a great idea but not the strongest unless this is a fluke. But hard to spend more money.

Not the most durable

This is fantastic and have used and four vehicles. However, recently the sticky circular adhesive's are coming off in one of my vehicle. I have replaced twice. Very frustrated. And I cannot find these in the store.

Love it but the adhesive circles cane off in two w

The windshield Mount doesn't come with a magnetic socket, thereby the product is useless without it. Luckily I had the vent clip before (which came as a pair-clip plus socket). I couldn't find a parts list anywhere on the box or website. The magnetic socket is a bit weak-always have to be adjusting your phone. There are way better products out there. I can't believe that the company is so cheap that they can't include a socket magnet with every order-pathetic.

Magnetic phone holder minus magnet
