[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't order these until October in western PA.  We had already had a few frosts by this point, but I decided to plant anyway when we had a warmer spell.  I just scattered them with my hands all along my flower beds.  I'm trying to get the soil less clumpy and clay-like. The seeds sprouted between days 7 to 10.  Grew quickly and are covered with snow at the moment.  I will be curious if i notice a difference in the soil come planting time!!

RYE Grass

So far so good. For the 1st time I'm trying a cover crop. I pulled out the existing weeds and had some loose soil afterwards on the top layer due to the weeding. I planted  the rye seeds in my raised beds and just brushed the dirt over the top. A couple days later the rye emerged and has been growing fast.

Rye grass as garden cover crop

Used as garden cover for vegetable garden last fall. Grew fast. In spring, cut it down 3 times and left on garden to help put nitrogen back in the soil. Had the best tomato and pepper harvest in years. Will be putting it on garden again this fall.
