This item is plastic with a simple vise for table or counter top. It has a long extractor which ensures pits removed.
It works well and makes this task fast.

As the job of cherry pitting goes, this is your best and fasted option!  Sometimes a cherry gets stuck on the pitter, but I still think it beats doing them one at a time. You can pit 50 a minute with this cool gadget!!!

It works as advertised. and it arrived a day early.

It works reliably.

Less than impressed by this cherry pitter. During the very first use I noticed cherries would get stuck at the top where the pitter piston pulled up. This could be remedied by pulling upward on the piston but slowed operation. Probably the biggest problem I encountered is a result on the flaw in the design. The compression spring is held in place by single nob at the top. During operation, this nob came loose and the spring shot somewhere??? I still haven't found that spring and without it the unit is useless. I looked for a replacement spring which is offered but is listed as currently not is stock. A lesser issue is that the parts are not dishwasher safe and will rust. For $25 I would have expected more from Norpro. I will likely buy a different unit (probably one of the German cherry pitters).
