It is cushy and warm in the cold. Best sleeping bag I have had.

Cozy Warm

This is not a backpacker's bag. Quite large and heavy, it's far more suitable for car camping, winter cabin life, or any time you are settling in for a bit longer stay in cold weather. But for that stuff, it's a very good value.

The outfit combines a liner and two stand-alone bags that can be zipped together to form a single -40s bag, and I have full confidence the combined bag meets the standard at that very low temperature, but don't forget a good ground pad: body weight compresses even excellent bag filling,  and cold from below *will* be problem without additional insulation. That's not a bag flaw. Even very expensive arctic bags require good sleeping/ground pads.

This is serious winter warmth, much roomier than a mummy bag, and adaptable to a range of temperatures from mild to bitter cold, at an extremely competitive price.
