Santa brought this for my 10 year old daughter, and the whole family has had a blast with it! The first couple of tries were somewhat disappointing, but once we got the hang of it, we've made big, fluffy cotton candy cones time after time, experimenting with different hard candies and mixing the sugars. It seemed like it took these first trial attempts for the heating element to really kick in and work at maximum capacity.

We really enjoy this machine. It worked for us very well. We weren't quite sure how to make a nice cotton candy puff, so, we you tubed it and now, it makes much more sense to us. I love using the flavored hard candy's as it gives the cotton candy a nice flavor. My daughter picked this out to buy with money from her Grandma and she loves it.

Lots of Fun

Got this for my Granddaughter for her 12th Birthday. And She her brother (15) and her sister (8) and Papa (Old) and I (also old) had soooo much fun. She LOVES it! A really Great toy! But be careful it does get hot! Does exactly what it should. Love to see her so happy and having so much fun!!!

So Much Funn!!!

I read a lot of reviews before deciding to make the purchase. I felt the the reviews that were positive all had the same underlying information... Follow the directions and be patient. That being said we tried first with 2 jolly ranchers and for the first try I was a little nervous, however I decided before going further to watch some great utube demonstrations. We gave it a try with regular sugar next and what a difference, big and fluffy, so I was thrilled. I went to a party rental supplier and picked up a package of the floss sugar much cheaper than all the prices I saw online.
I am very pleased, the party was a hit and we will defiantly be using ours often..

Bought For Carrnival B-Day for 8 year old..

My grandkids & my 24 yr old daughter love it. My grandkids 10 yrs old and older can use it themselves. It's quick & easy and makes great cotton candy. I did try sugar but it burned. Cleaned it out and tried jolly rancher candies. They were great but ooooh so sour. LOL. Then we tried Life Savers and they were absolutely perfect. They seemed to make more cotton candy than the Jolly Ranchers did and tasted great. We also tried peppermint, spearmint & cinnamon candies and they worked great too. The Werther's flavors didn't do so well. The stream of cotton candy was brittle & didn't make a web very well. Comes with 2 long plastic cones for catching the cotton candy, but you can slide the candy off & use over again. Clean up is so simple, just soak in water when cool. Product was not expensive either. Also arrived several days ahead of time.

Great for making with kids

A hit at last year's Christmas Party - very cute and as described. The only thing I would note is that it is not a Big Machine - its a table top kinda thing for fun. You MUST buy the extra kit that has the fine sugar and candy twirlers. The sugar lasts and the twirler tubes are washable and durable. We still have sugar for next party. It DOES take AWHILE to make a good size funnel of cotton - so little kids will lose interest before theirs is ready, and the other kids have to wait. I have impatient 4-7 year olds.

kids loved it at christmas party

This was really good for parties. I have a lot of them I was looking for something diff"erent to "wow" my friends and this did the trick! It is wonderful because you can use hard candy and not just sugar! Which is great cause I have friends who are diabetic so I can do sugar free candies!

It wasn't that bad. It did make cotton candy. But the work you had to put into it didn't justify the outcome. For a tablespoon of sugar about half of it ends up coated to the sides of the dish and reformed back into granulated sugar. The cotton candy that you do get is a little deceiving. It looks like a good bit, but it's just extra fluffy and not tightly packed as i was used to. Mine stopped working correctly. About the first 5-8 times we used it it was fine.Then it would stop putting out cotton candy half way through, then kick back up and finish. Last it started making a terrible racket and the cotton candy would only come out the top of the spinner. Before i get hate mail let me say, YES, i did properly soak and clean all the parts as i was supposed to, let it dry completely, and use it as was described in the instruction manual. With that being said, It wasn't the worst product i have ever tried. Worst cotton candy machine i could have probly gotten though. I will be shelling out a few more pennies for a much better model in the future.

Not worth the purchase.

I purchased 2 of these from here and they worked pretty well with the candy, but it took an extra long time for the cotton candy sugar to melt. I had used the candies first it didn't make alot of cotton candy, but I guess it is enough for the parents of the little ones we bought them for. However I did purchase 2 of the retro red pcm 805 models and they worked wonderfully, I would recommend spending that little extra for that model. The sugar worked exceptionally well, and made a huge cotton candy cone. My little ones loved it. All in all you get what you pay for with this model. Good luck!!!

It's pretty decent

I was disappointed with it did not  function very well . I returned it and bought a Waring pro cotton candy machine  instead for about $15.00  more and even though the Waring takes a bit of practice to perfect it , you can use regular sugar and it makes cotton candy much better then the Nostalgia PCM305 Vintage Collection Hard and Sugar-Free Candy Cotton Candy Maker. So personally I can't say that I would recommend this product. other then being a cute child's gift , but also 10 minutes to preheat where the Waring pro takes 5 to heat and runs hotter, thus doing a better job making the candy . The spinning of the whirl-er on top  of both machines are similar and rotate at similar speeds on both machines. So I hope this info helps
