General Mounting Tips: Always mount the string first before screwing in the light bulbs. For Outdoor Patios; We recommend using "aircraft wire" to use as support cable for a professional look and if you choose not to use a support wire then you can mount the string at various pivot points depending on your application. Got our lights hooked up and all working in the house. Had them hung and waited for evening time, clear weather, so were very excited for our first ever Christmas lights. 3 burnt out, first night. When replacing them, we noticed that the blue paint had chipped off. Next night, two more, third night 3 more. No rain or bad weather so felt it was very odd. So were in fact no burnt out but the paint had chipped so they were showing a very dim white. They stay off now. Will not purchase again. Also, we don't have a ladder tall enough so our neighbor was kind enough to help…the first few times anyways.
