Simple concept using a battery operated fan device that has a small burn chamber for a dime sized wood chip or a couple of wood pellets (it doesn't need much). Fire is ignited by using a match or lighter. I was surprised at how well the flavor that is infused using for only about 30 seconds. 
This will not the food give a smoke ring but does add a mild smoke flavor and the device does a good job for what it is. I would have purchased this sooner if I had known about it. I have used this for Meats and Cheeses.
