I love this machine...I haven't figured out the dial yet. But I am up in years so give some time. So far I have made cinnamon raisin bread for family and friends. Today I am making myself a loaf of French bread. I cannot for the life of me quite figure out how to change the loaf color.

Great bread maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using various bread machines for nearly 25 years (including another Hamilton Beach model), and was curious to test the features of this machine.  I baked a loaf of the Basic White Bread from the recipe in the manual, and a loaf of cinnamon-raisin bread from a recipe in my favorite bread machine cookbook.  Both loaves rose to a good size and were well-liked by the entire family.
This bread machine includes several cycles I haven't previously seen on other bread machines I've owned (f.ex., a Gluten-Free cycle and a Cake cycle).  The built-in fruit & nut dispenser did a decent job of dispersing raisins throughout the dough ball on the raisin bread (instead of allowing them to settle on the bottom of the loaf).  The manual warns about vibration causing the machine to potentially "walk" off the counter; this was not a problem for me, though.  (A rubber mat of some kind may help with that, but make sure it won't be harmed by the heat generated by the bread machine.)  The one feature that took a bit of getting used to is that every setting requires 2 steps:  first one presses the button for the setting one wishes to change, then one turns the knob to select the desired level of that setting.
The bread machine's sleek metal finish should look great in most kitchens.  This is shallower front-to-back than my old bread machine, but taller and wider, so you'll want to make sure you can make space on your  kitchen counter for this Hamilton Beach machine.  If you love homemade baked goods, but don't have the time to knead or oven space to both bake bread and fix the rest of a meal,  the Hamilton Beach Premium Bread Maker may be just what you need.  Highly recommended!

Lots of cycles; fruit/nut dispenser; looks sleek!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach Premium Bread Maker with Fruit and nut dispenser is easy to use and has been fun for the family. I have had a few bread machines throughout the years but this one has been the easiest to use thus far. I have made a loaf of white bread and a cinnamon raisin bread to date. I also used it to make dough for pizza. The manual gives good instruction however, I do wish it had more recipes. I like the convenient fruit and nut dispenser and the kids love watching in the window as the bread kneads and proofs. Easy to Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this about a week and made my first loaf of bread. I made a whole wheat bread using the recipe included with the bread maker. Was so easy, just added ingredients and pushed a couple buttons. Was very satisfied in the quality of the loaf.

So easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have wanted a bread maker for ages but hesitated on getting one.  So glad that I have this one to use - I love homemade bread but due to issues had to give up kneading and now I can have homemade bread again.   Automatic bread making is such a wonderful thing – not guessing very little work and it comes out very well.  Of all the different products out there that do things for you I like this one the best.  When I first got this I couldn't get the bread pan out and the instruction booklet didn't say.  I finally figured it out by reading how to lock the pan back in. Please Hamilton update the manual!  It was the week-end so sent Hamilton an email asking how and they thought my machine was defective.  No it was operator error this machine is not defective and works great!  I made Stollen bread as my first try but didn't bake it in the maker as wanted a more traditional size loaf.  It came out very well and I didn't have to worry about adding the fruits myself.  They were pretty evenly distributed though out the loaf too.  A big plus.   For my second try I made a white loaf and baked it in the maker.  It turned out fine but rather pale (used the lowest color setting) will use a darker setting next time, I sliced it thinner as the bread was tall so that the sandwich would not be so huge. I ended up using the rest of the bread for French toast which was yummy.  I made sure to put the maker away from the front of the counter so it wouldn't ‘walk' off and kept an eye on it as in the kitchen the whole time doing other things.  The second time I couldn't be there so I set it on the floor as didn't want it falling off and breaking.  The booklet does say the maker gets hot so I was prepared for this and made sure it wasn't touching anything and had plenty of air space around it.  I know I will be using this maker a lot!  It does appear that the bread maker is very sturdy and should last quite a long time.   Love the smell of bread making in the house and the taste of homemade bread again.   This spring I want to try the jam with strawberries – it looks like it can just be set with no stirring and watching carefully like on the stove which sounds like such a great way to make jam.   I am so excited about making bread that I can't wait to try all the other settings and different sizes.   Thanks Hamilton Beach!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a sturdy, well-made machine with a brushed stainless steel finish that would look good in any kitchen.

It is very easy to use. So far, I have made white bread – delicious, and probably the best I've had from a bread machine (and I've owned several over the years)! And Cranberry Orange Pecan Sweet Bread – a breakfast treat. Both of these recipes came from the Hamilton-Beach book included with the machine. And pumpernickel – from my own recipe collection! Next on the to-bake list: French bread.

Excellent documentation! Listing the ingredients in the exact order that they should be added to the machine is really a plus for the novice cook who does not know certain things such as the effect of salt coming in contact with yeast at the wrong time. Good recipes – would like to see more of them. I would also like to suggest that flour measurements in your recipes be given in grams instead of milliliters – this would be a help for people like myself who measure dry ingredients like flour on a digital scale. Also, please suggest a water/liquid temperature range. Not everyone knows that yeast needs a certain liquid temperature to properly do its job.

I make bread by hand but this machine is so diversified it can make 3 sizes of bread 1, 1,5, 2.0 pounds. It has 14 functional positions. This to me is the PREMIER BREAD MACHINE.

My son bought this for me and I have had fun experimenting with a few kinds of bread. The only thing I have trouble with is on the counter I have to get on a step stool to see the top which is where you program the device .
