I've broken at least 3 past pitters - this one is The Best by far and has held up beautifully after a number of years of use. Provides a firm grip on the cherry/olive - pits every time. Also, the splatterguard is genius and blocks probably 80% of the output - much better than any other on the market.

A friend gave me 3 bags of fresh cherries. I had no idea how to pit them, so internet to the rescue! I ordered this and was very pleased with how easy it was.

It's the top pitter!

Used it to pit some spanish green olives.  It took a bit more effort than originally expected, but did a fair job. I can see where there would be some limitations on the swize of the olive to be pitted in that they could be too tall.

I LOVE this kitchen tool! During the summer months, I eat more salads and especially Greek salads. I buy bulk jars of Kalamata olives for my salads, but they are unpitted. This tool makes quick work of that. I save money and eat quality olives in my salads at the same time because of this tool. I removed the plastic splash guard" as it really isn't necessary, but that is my only critique.

My favourite new kitchen tool!

While I used the pitter from time to time, it was not excessive and occasionally during season. Removing pits effectively with one try worked about 75 percent of time. Many times the plunger would miss the pit and the pit which then had to then be removed manually... When it worked, the clear protector helped to reduce splatters, I appreciate the lock to keep the pitter compressed. It recently broke, which seems to be common these days with OXO products.... certainly not the high standards which earned high praises from me in years past.

Didn't use it often, broke when I needed it most.

The product came to me with one handle bent and the customer service told me that I am responsible to get it back to manufacturer , I do not have a printer to print the return label and the customer service rep told me I was responsible to get it back to them he told me to go to the library I asked him to issue a call tag and he said he would not do that

Very poor quality

The hole in this cherry pitter is too small.  After the pit is pushed through, it gets stuck in the device and you have to manually remove the pit from the pitting device.  Makes this cherry pitter worthless

Not a good product.
