I am able to scoop out pasta, veggies, legumes or most anything with ease. All liquid drains out instantly. It's sturdy but light weight. The OXO line of kitchen utensils are of great quality. I'm so glad Walmart carries them at a great price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OXO kitchen cooking utensils are of the highest quality. They are made with silicone, harmful plastics. I trust this brand to live up to its reputation. 
This pasta scoop strainer is just the right size for making sure your pasta is Al Dente, the way you like it. Dip the strainer into your boiling pasta and scoop just enough to run under some cool water. You don't want to burn your tongue but your timing tells you it's ready. After a quick rinse to cool it down, you can sample your pasta for just the right texture. The long handle  keeps your hands away from the boiling water and the edges of the scoop keeps your sample on the strainer. Bon Apatite!
