The Office product I purchased had to be downloaded from the internet. I tried for over an hour downloading it using Mozilla Firefox as my internet browser and it wouldn't download. I switched to Microsoft's internet explorer as my browser and Office downloaded right away. So, if you are having problems downloading the product, the problem might be the browser you are using.

Installation went smoothly and all programs seem to be working fine.

It looks to be about the same as previous versions that I have used on a regular basis. The menus are stirred with every newer version to look different. So it does take some time to learn where things are.

The feature that keeps me using Microsoft Office is the grammar checker. It is not always right and it does not understand technical writing. It is the best grammar checker that I have found and it does help.

I also on occasion write extensive multipage spread sheets. With Microsoft's spreadsheet program it is a little easier to get the formulas correct and checked than it is with other brand names.

If it was not for those two features I would save some money and would use one of the free software packages like Open Office.

This package does not contain software or discs. It is simply a "Product Key" to activate your already installed or software to be downloaded and installed. You must have an internet connection, at least to start with. If you have a slow internet connection it will take a while to install it.

The price of this from Walmart is a little less that it would be from Microsoft online. As always, Walmart is very quick to fill and ship an order.

MS Office Home 2013

This product works well and is priced like most that are similar to it. The only disappointment to me was that it did not come with an actual CD. However, the instructions were easy to follow and the download was doable without too much trouble. If you are looking for Microsoft Office, this one is a good choice.

Overall good product

The is apparently the last version of Microsoft Office that you can buy to own--the future of this suite is on a rental basis only. This version has a lot of features relating to storing your files on the cloud. I guess if you want to make it really easy for the NSA to share your files, that's a good thing. But I don't see why I would want to do this. I don't have that many devices, so it's not that hard to keep them in synch for the files that really matter.
I'll be using this for schoolwork. I had tried using OpenOffice before. OpenOffice is good, but the file formats are not as fully compatible with Microsoft as they need to be when you're sharing files with other Microsoft Office users. So this solved my problem at a reasonable price.

The interface is basically the standard "ribbon" (which I don't like) with a Metro design (OK, not great, not bad.)

Only real negative is that it took forever to install. I'm not sure why. Everything seemed to go quickly at first. Then it got to a point where it said that there were just a few "finishing touches" left. It was over an hour from that point until it finished!

Useful software

The only disappointments are that there is no disk and you save your stuff into a "cloud." I don't like that. I'm guessing you can also save your stuff on your hard drive if you want to and use the cloud if you want to access everything on different computers, tablets, etc. I haven't learned enough about the cloud to know, but I do have to wonder who else would have access to my stuff. Other than those issues, the software itself is a deal. It was cheaper to purchase from Walmart than anywhere else. Also, for those who can't find it loaded on their system, if you have a newer computer with the apps page, scroll all the way over to the right, you'll find your programs there. My husband had the same problem - couldn't located the programs on his new laptop. Once I found them, I pinned them to his desktop where he has ease access. I don't like the app based computers at all. BLAH!!!

Good Deal

I was expecting a CD, but when I picked up my MS Office package, it was only a box. I didn't recognize the "key" was a card about the size of a credit card and was in the box as well. But after struggling with the installation which was just a little different than using a CD, I got it installed. I've not used it a lot yet but one feature is that you can store your files to the "cloud." I'm still not sure if there is a charge to do that and another thing. You have to be sure to contact Microsoft at least one every so many days, I think it's like 270 or else your account can be deleted and thus any documents you save to the "cloud" will also go away. So other than those things, I think I like the product.

Updated version of MS Office, great for home use

We bought this for our granddaughter for her 13th birthday. She is very happy with it. We had it shipped to the Walmart in S.C. near to where they live. Our son suggested Walmart because he has received good service on the computer he bought there. He reports that it meets all of their expectations for a student computer. Our hope is that it will last her through high school.

Before going to the store I wanted to make sure Wal Mart did carry Office Home and Student 2013 which they do.

I went to the store to purchase however once getting there the price was 10.00 higher then online.

So went back home and order online to be delivered to the store..

It would have been convent if Wal-Mart would have a computer available to order product online instead of having to leave the store..

Cheaper on line

I never could get this to install on my PC. I even had someone that knows what they're doing to try, but he had no luck either. Unfortunately, this item falls under the category, that it can only be returned if unopened. Yet how would you know it you can't intallt the program if you don't open it????? So, I have wasted that money. So, unless you have super fast access to the internet, I certainly do NOT recommend this. And it came as a key card, not a disc, so you HAVE to download the program. THUMBS DOWN for this item.

I purchased this product believing that it came with a CD, so I could reload it personally if it somehow became corrupted. The product comes in a box, suggesting that there might be a CD or a USB drive in it. It does not. It is merely a cardboard box with a slip of cardboard containing a product key. Then, you must go online and download it, just as if you purchased it from a website, and downloaded it.

This product is deceptive packaging, and you should not purchase it.

Further, Office 2013 is no significant improvement over Office 2007.
