Top Shelf Spinning Reel

Ok I bought this reel just to give it a try, I use Quantum reels and thought why not give this one a go. after a summer of fishing with this Okuma Ceymar 30 for trout it has been great ! it is my go to reel for throwing light spinners to just bouncing a worm off the bottom of the lake. I cant find any thing bad to say about this little reel and it's performance .. I tore it down and greased up the gears inside and back at it again catching fish with it's smooth drag and smooth feel...

I love this reel. Its light, smooth, quiet and just right for those who have arthritis. i haven't tested in the water due to issue of changing the handles.  I could not flip the handle from right to left. The handle inputs on both sides are different. Therefore i thought maybe it was something i didn't know about.  I tried contacting OKUMA, and never got any response. I researched web info for help, but none was listed. I love to have this line of reel, but cannot find any info as to which one has the reverse handle.  So i will try to see if the c-40 has the capability of switching the handle.

Very nice lite weight reel.very smooth casting and retrieve. I'm very happy with okuma.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third purchase of the Okuma Ceymar Spinning Reel C-30. A replacement for my original one, the bail spring gave out after 10  years of hard usage. They're still a great budget spinning reel, and definitely a steal at $40. They say you can fish this in saltwater, just give it a good rinse afterwards. From my own experience, I say stay away from seawater, and with regular maintenance this reel shall prevail as a top contender for best budget spinning reel, ya digg!!!
