Cuisine

Fresh basil pesto sauce is one of the most versatile sauces utilized around the world. Originating in Genoa, where it’s known as pesto alla genovese, you might be surprised at the wide variety of culinary uses it has, other than to top cooked pasta. This oil-based sauce is great as a garnish, for appetizers and dips, a delicious salad dressing, sandwich spread or even pizza topping. Looking for new ways to season or marinate meat, fish, chicken, or vegetables? Use Olivieri® Basil & Cheese Pesto, thinned with extra virgin olive oil if needed. This fresh sauce does not need any reheating and can be stored in the fridge or freezer for up to six months. Enjoy the quality and taste of Olivieri® sauces, made with no preservatives, artificial colours or flavours. Continue adding more authentic Italian flavours to your meals by trying Olivieri® Herb Alfredo. Also, try our gnocchi if you are looking for more delicious dinner ideas.

Flavor

I used half of this for one recipe, then froze it with a piece of plastic wrap under the lid (the lid didn't seem airtight on its own). Did great thawed for another recipe later.

Very good! Did fine frozen

Really delicious. Creamy texture. Probably not very healthy but I don't care because it's so delicious

Delicious

I have tried every other pesto from Walmart and never really loved any of them. Thought I'd give this one a try and I'm so glad I did because it is insanely delicious!

Best store-bought pesto I've tried

The best

I've tried other brands, even with the same ingredients, but this one just tastes the best. I put it on literally everything.

Best pesto sauce

great to have in the fridge

Best Pesto sauce!

Good taste and price

Not made with olive oil as described on the Walmart page. The
list of ingredients on the label says a blend of canola oil/olive oil.
Disappointed as it was the only reason I bought this one. More expensive than others.

If you read labels…

Not the best quality product. Only lasts a few days after buying. Very small. I recommend CLASSICO garlic basil pesto instead. I wish Walmart would carry it. I had to go to a competitor to get it. It's in a glass jar and lasts a long time in the fridge. I've used it for years.

I don't recommend

Olivieri Basil & Cheese Fresh Pesto Sauce. Front-facing clear jar with green, oil-based pesto showing basil flecks and grated cheese on the label. Pesto alla genovese for pasta or salad dressing; often used, thinned with extra virgin olive oil, as a marinade. Freezable; no preservatives or artificial colours or flavours.
