Placed on a 20 year old deck and actually did multiple applications over a few weeks.  Did not wash it off.  Almost totally removed all stains.  Easy to apply and priced less than other brands.  100% biggest bang for the buck.

Olympic Deck Cleaner is outstanding!!. I have now used this product twice, both times on cedar shingle siding and both times it did a remarkable job of removing the milew, mold and graying from the shingles. The cleaner is very easy to use. No power washing neccasary, just spay the cleaner on, lit it sit for 5 mintues and hose it off. No backbreaking scrubbing required. The deck cleaner has now made the 30+ year old shingles on my house look almost new again.

I have a 10 year old Trex deck. It's on the north side of the house so the part closest to the house is always in shade. Over the years it developed algae stains. This is the first product I tried that does what it says it'll do. BUT FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. My wife didn't and got poor results. I followed the label instructions EXACTLY ; use a tank sprayer, let it sit 10 minutes, >for Trex deck agitate [scrub] lightly with a brush<, rinse.
Wow. it came right up. in the really bad spots I had to do it twice. No big deal. Be careful not to walk on it during the 10 minute wait period. As the algae pulls out (you can see as a thin layer of goo on the deck) it is VERY slippery.
Also be careful not to get it on your clothes. It bleached out spots on my pants where the spray hit.
The deck is almost good as new. It hasn't looked this good in years!

So this will be my 2nd review I have ever written. But once again as I clean my deck in 2016, I am amazed at how wonderful this product is. 


OK folks. This is the first and only review I have ever written. You may have heard that statement before and I'm not quite sure how to prove this statement, but it is true. We installed Timbertech composite decking in 2009. We have a 3 tiered connecting deck that wraps around the corner of our house. The cost of JUST the materials was over $10,000. We decided to go with composite decking because Timbertech advertised “MAINTENANCE FREE” (they now advertise LOW MAINTENANCE -- load of garbage!) We didn't want the hassle of re-staining, etc. every year. Well, about 2 years after the summer installation we noticed black mold spots starting to develop. That summer it was a small amount and seemed to be just on the surface. We lightly pressure washed it and it was gone. But by the next summer the mold was back and with a vengeance! My husband and I were mortified. So we pressure washed it again but by late summer it was all back again. Next summer, same thing but worse again. My husband and I were considering ripping down the deck because it looked so awful. We stopped entertaining at our house because it looked like our deck had a contagious disease. Every year I would go to Lowes, Home Depot, etc. asking for some type of cleaner. Tried lots. Krud Kutter, to homemade stuff. Nothing worked. At one of my visits to Lowes looking for paint, I by chance asked one of the employees if they have come out with anything that cleans composite decking. He said yes he did have a product for me. It is called Olympic Deck Cleaner. Told me to just spray it on, wait 5 minutes and hose it off. Said if it is really bad you may need to pressure wash it off instead of hosing it off. I rudely laughed in his face. He told me that it doesn't say to use it on composite decking but to try it. He just saw how it worked at a conference. So I bought 1 bottle of it at the cost of around $13 bucks. Got home, filled the garden sprayer and applied. Didn't need to dilute it down. Just spray it on. I just did a small patch in the corner of the deck to make sure it didn't do anything worse than what I was already dealing with. I was pressure washing the deck furniture at the same time so I went to the garage to pull out some of the patio chairs. Returned to check on the spot I was cleaning and OMG it worked. It had dissolved the dirt and mold. I couldn't believe it. I did the rest of one level of deck and couldn't believe what I was looking at. My husband was shocked. I had taken some before pics because I fought and fought with Timbertech to replace the deck. They pretty much laughed at me. After cleaning, I took some pics and took both the before and after pics up to show the guy at Lowes. He didn't seem surprised but was thrilled for me because I just saved $10,000 by not replacing the deck. About a week, I returned to lower to purchase more paint. When I went up to the paint counter I was shocked to see that they had my before and after pictures in a frame sitting on the counter. I was so excited. I could have stood there all day proudly promoting the product and what it did for my deck. So like I said, this is my first review and I am not sure how to prove that this product really worked, but for $13 bucks its worth a try vs. replacing the whole deck. Sorry for the giant long review.

Olympic Premium Deck Cleaner

Excellent Product. Recommended by contractor who installed my vinyl privacy fence. Pricing, packaging, ease of use, are great. So happy to maintain beautiful appearance of my fence.

Was joking... "it says just spray it on" not expecting real results but it was just that easy!

We have a composite deck which has never been cleaned in six years...lots of dark black mold and serious grey and greenish spots...Your product EXCEEDED my expectation!!...Very easy to use and rinse off...The result is our original deck is back!!...My wife could not be any happier either..."Happy wife, Happy life!"...I will always use this product and because of the ease in application will clean our deck at least every year...THANK YOU for a great cleaner...

Premium Deck Cleaner

I was a little afraid to use this product after reading all the bad reviews but it worked great. Swept the deck, put it on and all looks good for the stain tomorrow. Hope the bad reviews on the stain are wrong also. I would say to buy more than the stated coverage amount.

Deck Cleaner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Um, the cleaner is easy to use but you have to be really careful with application because it's toxic to plants. The container had leaked onto the directions, smearing them to the point that they're illegible. I had to dig on the web to find instructions.

After scrubbing our very dirty deck with water, I worked this cleaner into the boards with a brush. It was easy to apply and quickly soaked into the wood. Though it did dry golden as the directions suggest, the wood turned gray when the drying was complete.
The final stain went on smoothly after this.
I don't know if this cleaner did all it claimed to do, which is why I gave it a 4-star vote. However, I am confident that my porch will last much longer after such a thorough cleaning.

Easy to work with

This product ruined my deck. I followed directions and it turned my deck white. Now I'm paying for someone to restore it. The entire deck needs to be sanded down. This company should pat to fix my deck. It now needs a new floor put in. $$$$
