Ordered my Onn 4K pro thru the app and was delivered fairly quickly.  Setup was breeze. No VPN needed. This device a beast. I use Netflix, Prime Video and other apps and the picture quality and intuitive Google TV interface is at par or better with the Nvidia Shield and Fire Stick 4K Max which I both tried as well. You can also side load apps as well as Wifi 6 and wired Ethernet. You can cast shows from your phone or tablet to your TV, expandable storage with  USB 3 port and smart home features thru Google Home by saying "Hey, Google/Gemini." This streaming device is on Point for Features and when it comes to Price.

Onn 4K Pro on Point

I purchased this thing today but it is geo locked.

No a Canadian version

Ordered an Onn 4K Pro from Walmart.ca, shipped and sold by Walmart Canada however it appears that the actual device might be an American one. 

Device came in a Canadian box, serial matching to the device and "CA" in the serial. Yet after completing the device set up through Google home and letting the device update I was met with an error screen stating "Unsupported region" and that the device could only be used in US/Puerto Rico. 

I tried contacting Onn support and their only advice was to return the box in store. This would be a great option but this device has only been in stock 1-2 times since November 2025.

Hopefully Onn can push an OTA update to correct the firmware. 

Truly a shame that Onn doesn't allow bootloader unlocking, if they did I could fix the device myself.

Didn't work

I was excited to use this device after hearing so many great things. But when I tried to set it up, I got a "Unsupported region" error during the setup.  "Unsuported region - This onn. Streaming Device 4K pro is only supported in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Please contact your place of purchase for assistance." The Walmart staff basically gave me a refund. Would've loved to use this device. If you're in Canada, do not buy. It doesn't work.

"Unsupported region" - Does not work in Canada

After waiting so long for Walmart Canada to receive stock of the Onn 4K Pro I finally received it yesterday only to be completely disappointed! During installation I got a message indicating that I am in an unsupported region and that this box is only supported in the US and Puerto Rico. How can Walmart Canada permit themselves to sell a product that is NOT supported in Canada? This is completely unacceptable what a waste of my time and money. STAY AWAY from this product!!! DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

Just recieved mine via the Walmart.ca ordering process. They shipped me a device locked to the United States. What a massive pain in the rear. Shame on you, Walmart. You need to do better than this.

Be careful! Region Locked to the USA.

Just bought 2 “Canadian “ versions.  They are region blocked and will not work.  Don’t buy it.
