If you are looking for a fast, efficient android processor, then look no further. It is definitely the way to go  as opposed to a firestick! My only regret is, I waited for so long! Now I'm trying to catch the newest model  to replace another firestick. This is the device for all you cord draggers...it's time to severe ties with the overpriced companies and gain freedom!

Ordering this from walmart.ca you would think it would be able to be used in Canada, but it can't! I set up my ONN 4k Pro as one would and get an error message: "Unsupported region". Why would Walmart Canada be selling tech that can't be used in Canada!

Region-Locked to USA!!

I bought 2 of this devides in canada from walmart CANADA, on the box its says walmart CANADA, BUT when I try to set it up I receive a message that this device only works in the U.S. Therefore, the device is completely useless! Whats the point of selling it in canada if it does work here?

BLOCKED IN CANADA

You need to know that your Canadian locations are currently selling ONN 4K Pro devices that will not work outside of the USA!
I purchased one today in  Ontario, Store %233071 and when i was setting it up, the screen showed it would not work here.

Bought in person in Canada, but locked to the USA

Ordered an Onn 4K Pro from Walmart.ca, shipped and sold by Walmart Canada however it appears that the actual device might be an American one. 

Device came in a Canadian box, serial matching to the device and "CA" in the serial. Yet after completing the device set up through Google home and letting the device update I was met with an error screen stating "Unsupported region" and that the device could only be used in US/Puerto Rico. 

I tried contacting Onn support and their only advice was to return the box in store. This would be a great option but this device has only been in stock 1-2 times since November 2025.

Hopefully Onn can push an OTA update to correct the firmware. 

Truly a shame that Onn doesn't allow bootloader unlocking, if they did I could fix the device myself.

Didn't work

Item was locked to USA ,so not usable in Canada ,even though box had Canadian,French directions  and allowed you to pick Canada in the set up list it still showed that it can only be used in USA  ,seems to be a common issue but you would expect it to work if bought from a Canadian store .

Don"t buy ant ONN product

After waiting so long for Walmart Canada to receive stock of the Onn 4K Pro I finally received it yesterday only to be completely disappointed! During installation I got a message indicating that I am in an unsupported region and that this box is only supported in the US and Puerto Rico. How can Walmart Canada permit themselves to sell a product that is NOT supported in Canada? This is completely unacceptable what a waste of my time and money. STAY AWAY from this product!!! DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

Horrible - Stay Away DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

I was excited to use this device after hearing so many great things. But when I tried to set it up, I got a "Unsupported region" error during the setup.  "Unsuported region - This onn. Streaming Device 4K pro is only supported in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Please contact your place of purchase for assistance." The Walmart staff basically gave me a refund. Would've loved to use this device. If you're in Canada, do not buy. It doesn't work.

"Unsupported region" - Does not work in Canada

I had heard great things about this streaming box, that it was the next best thing after the Nvidia Shield TV.  I had heard rumours of them being locked to the US if you bought them there, but I purchased mine from walmart.ca and it even has the CA in the serial number.  Still can't connect.  Shows the Unsupported region screen that everyone else is having trouble with.  I'm saavy enough with tech that I will likely get it working using a VPN, but if you just want a plug and play device, this is not it at this time.

Unsupported Region in Canada

We picked up a new ONN streaming box at Walmart store in Ontario Canada and when we tried to install it it said it was " locked out" as it was only usable in the US and Puerto Rico!!!!!!   Had to drive 30 minutes to pick it up and now another 30 minutes to return it!!! Why would you have US set hardware for sale here in Canada?VERY FRUSTRATING! We already have an ONN box which is working fine and didn't have this problem-so we know how to install it, that's not the issue.
