I bought this item for my 6 year old daughter to watch the Land Before Time series and she loves it. It brings me joy to see her enjoy an item that I grew up using and a movie series we all love. It helps her rely less on all the apps and causes less arguments on what she is allowed to watch. I would recommend this to parents that are cutting down on main stream electronics and streaming platforms.

Here it is: it's inexpensive and it works! Easy to use, lightweight, and compact. Good for RVers and campers or anyone wanting an inexpensive DVD player with a small footprint. Replaced a very old SONY I purchased new back in the day (20 years or so ago). If this ONN lasts half that long at this price, I'll come back then and sing its praises again. Recommended!

Inexpensive and works!

It's a neat little dvd player. The controls are very small and difficult to see, but you get the hang of it quickly...on...off...open..
The voice assist is ridiculous and I wish I could delete it from the system. If it is on the voice YELLS on or off or sound up or down. It's just foolish and I leave it off.
But, the dvd player is relatively inexpensive and is easy to operate and the picture is good.

neat dvd player

Quick and easy setup. Everything you need to start using immediately is provided (other than the CD/DVD you wish to play). Can use with old or new tv's. Glad I saw this before I purchased one almost double the price. Good for listening to CD audiobooks from public library while you physically do other activities.

I purchased this replacement DVD player, not because I had issues with one I bought several years ago (it still works fine, but because I lost the remote for it when moving 2 years ago.

I purchased an ONN universal remote shortly after, but was unable to get it to work on the older ONN DVD player. So, I purchased this one for exactly the same price I paid some 10 years ago, just to get a working remote! I know have two identical players that work fine, and use the same remote.

The HDMI feature is most appreciated, as it allows me to plug it into a video switching system or directly into a computer. My previous DVD players used either just RCA phono plugs and/or S Video jacks. As the S Video system has gone the way of the Dodo, RCA and HDMI are more than adequate.

All in all, for the price, this unit is a fine value, with good controls and excellent video and audio. Ease of hookup adds to the appeal.

Being a recovering audiophile from the 1970's, I truly appreciate these features, and the fact that I can still incorporate this unit into a vintage component audio system, as well as a contemporary video distribution complex.

Priced right and a good value!

DVDs are becoming dinosaurs like cassette tapes. Not a lot of DVD players to choose from for a reasonable price, but this one fit our needs and was a good price. Sets up and operates easily. Had the HDMI port which we wanted. Perfect for our occasional movie watching.

Great DVD Player For Occasional Use

This cheapy DVD player has a half decent DAC. For real. I was shocked. I'm going to use it as a CD player in one of my secondary systems. I'm impressed. I've heard gear at 10 times and more the price that didn't sound as good as this does. Also has coax out to use an external DAC. But the picture is a different story. Not great. It does have good connectivity though with all the options from RCA to component out. I just hope mine won't bite the dust as I've seen so many others mention in their reviews. So that's definitely a concern. But again, ridiculously good sound quality for next to nothing as far as cost. 

Build quality especially with the tray seems solid as well. But time will tell about reliability.

Attention audiophiles

I would have returned this but I missed doing so by 2 days. I gave 4 stars for ease of use as a guess. This is only if your outlet is very close to where you'll be using it. The cord is VERY short and after plugging it in the unit whistles. This player is way over priced. Didn't work for me and now I'm stuck with it. 😡

The product came with an instruction manual that you could not understand. I tried multiple ways of connecting it, and tried to search for videos or online instructions for how to use it, but could not find anything. I finally gave up on the product.

Could Not Connect

Well, I don't think I've even had this machine for a month and the remote stopped working.  I changed the batteries and that didn't do anything.  I'm in my 40s and level alone so it's not like kids are hard with it.  So now I'm just waiting for the DVD player itself to go bad because the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I think you're better off not buying this and buying a namebrand one from a company like Samsung or Sony.
