Very easy to install very dependable usually last at least three years before needing replacement I have use this type of Al for a long time

Very easy lawn care

Easy to install and work fine for a while but don't expect more than 3-4 years particularly if exposed to the elements. The seals will eventually leak but for the price they are cheap enough to replace. Walmart had these for a couple dollars cheaper than the big home centers and delivery was free (bought 3) so this is an inexpensive solution for a leaky valve.

Inexpensive solution

I thought orbit was a brand to spend on,. But not for these... They are not reliable and don't last. I have the 57223 models which I think are the same as these. Valve sucks and won't turn on. Just thump thump thump until you loosen the solenoid. Thumping stops, valve works, but then solenoid leaks. Tighten the solenoid and when you close and reopen the valve, the thump thump thump comes back. It's like is trying to open the valve, but can't quite get it opened. Maybe the solenoid plunger is slightly to long ? Just not reliable. Is there a recall on these, or an upgraded part that doesn't have this problem? All 4 of mine have this problem when I first start using them after winter is over. And they sometimes act up randomly throughout the year..

Wimpy and not reliable long term...

Works for awhile, then won't shut off.  Bought a replacement, same issue.  Went thru many on line trouble shooting steps.  the only thing that seem to work is to push hard down on the solenoid, but why have an automatic valve?
