I ordered 3 of them and found them very easy to build - about 25 min each with a cordless. I would have liked these to be about 6 ft tall - but even at 5 ft - they look great! Well worth the buy with the way the cherry wood color blends into a room. Very sturdy as well.

I am very satified with this product. It has beautiful color and looks great. I actually bought it to display my Christmas village.

This product was not only easy to put together, but it looks amazing! We have over 200 DVD's and nowhere to put them except for stacking them on the ground. Now with the DVD's it looks great! The only aspect of this I did not like was the fact that as soon as you open the box it reeks of spray paint. It took a couple days but the smell went away.

Book Case

We shopped around and are very pleased with our selection. The smell mentioned in other reviews is very strong but will fade away as it airs out. We recommend this item. We bought two and have them standing side by side. They exceeded our expectations in everyway.

Excellent design and quality for the price

A couple years ago I bought 2 of these shelves, to organize what was destined to become a craft/storage/multi-purpose room. There are now 6.
These work well in a small space, look good, and hold up well.
After putting several of these together, I've found that They are easier to assemble attaching the crossbars Before the shelves. One annoying thing is having to dig sawdust out of the holes, in order for bolts to fit.

Just right

Truth be told, this is the second set of these shelves that I've bought. I've set up an entertainment like system with these. I love the look of these mission-style shelves and the price is right.

Love the look and color.

Assembly was easy and the piece looks good. I use it to store towels and linens in one of my bathrooms since I live in an older house without many closets. The only complaint is that the box was a complete disaster and inside were two or three predictable dings in the wood. Fortunately, the serious ones were in the rear against the wall. I'd recommend it, but don't take it if the box looks bad.

Overall, not bad.

I originally purchased this style book case from i think office max around 2005. The product I bought at office max looked like real wood (wood grains on the surfaces) however these appear to be stained compressed wood. The appearance just isn't the same quality. They are in different rooms from the other shelves I have, so match from a distance in style, but they would be noticeably different side by side. The quality was reduced even though the price remained the same.

The bookcase is not well packaged for shipping. I ordered two of them, and both arrived damaged. They are packed so that the dowels from the slats in the back are right up against the side of the top shelf with nothing between them to protect the shelf, so the edge of the shelf was significantly gouged on both bookcases. Given the way they are packed, I would be surprised if any arrived without this damage. I have returned both.

I didn't really mind having to go to Wal-Mart to pick up the bookcase for the free shipping, but when I opened the box and found pieces damaged and warped, so I had to transport that heavy box back to the store. Yes, then I did mind.

The top of the bookcase was banged up along one side, because it wasn't protected from the pegs of the back support pieces when it was packaged.

And two of the back supports were warped.

The only upsides to this purchase were that the return staff were very nice and that my money was refunded within two days.

I do not recommend this shelving unit, until the maker packs it properly and makes sure pieces aren't warped when they do pack it.
