[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is all I wanted. A big dumb machine that just did one thing. Scrub... And it does that. I would say even though it says "commercial" it should be re-worded as "mini-commercial." It works like a commercial unit but just smaller. I think its a solid $100 too much but still a great buy. I love the how it works. Just some of the wording on the listing isn't to my liking. This unit could sell even better if someone that knows the actual hardware well enough to write about it. I couldn't even get solid answers from the website of the manufacturer. Meaning that Oreck Commercial ORB550MC Orbiter Floor Machine isn't sold on Oreck's website at all. They have different units for sale that cost more. This specific unit seems like it was made by Oreck, yes but for online sales/big chain-stores only. I could not find this model actually being sold at stores, besides walmart. All other listings seem closer to online stores only. I'd say this is a great buy but I think its $100 too much. So, IDK what is more important to get more sales for this unit or just to offer something with commercial power but sold in miniature and still both $100 too much on the retail and the one on the Oreck site is $100 more than that. So if you know how these things work you probably have a leg up on the passive consumer looking for something with power but doesn't break the bank and is built with metal instead of cheap plastics.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using it commercially in a restaurant that has a lot of worked in grease. It performs extremely well in that setting. I believe I've worn out 5 or 6 brush heads so far. I have been using it on laminate floors and they look new when I am finished. Very satisfied with the product!

Used on two jobs and first job paid for the cost of this machine. Wanted to share how to use the Oreck550 as a sander since I primarily bought this to refinish hardwood floors. Read many people were dissatisfied with it and couldnt get the sandpaper to attach to the machine. I will say the instructions manufacturer recommended to do sanding is inadequate and paper will slide off. To attach the sandpaper I first attached a buffer pad like the green scrub pad and then used a roll of duct tape to cut little strips and rolled the tape to itself to make little strips of two sided tape. I stuck the little hacked two sided sticky tape of duct tape to the back side of the sandpaper and then placed the oreck with green buffer paid on top of the sandpaper so the tape sticks to the buffer paid and does not slide off during use. With this approach I am able to sand down about 150-200 square feet of hardwood per sheet of 60 grit sandpaper. Also found best deal for sandpaper at HD online have 50 sheets for $30 with 10 sheets each of 60/80/120/160/180 grit so 10 sheets of 60 grit was way better than the $10 per sheet I was seeing most other sites were advertising.  So far I like the machine but will see how long it holds up. Great deal at $260 from Walmart when seen anywhere from $400-$800 on Amazon. Thanks Walmart and good luck with your Oreck projects!

How to use Oreck550 as a sander.

I love this Polisher! I bought several different brands offered at other stores that worked for a few cleanings, but after they sat unused for a few months they would not start again. This one is commercial grade and gets the job done every time without fault! Don't waste money on the cheaper units, this one will save you time  and money for year's to come.

Money Well Spent!

This machine was purchased for use in a large manufacturing plant. The small size allows it to get under and between objects that a larger machine cannot. We still use a larger machine for the majority of the scrubbing but this machine does a great job for what we needed.

Oreck Floor Scrubber

this machine is magical!!! I have been searching a machine like this for my  white marble floor  for a while.  After many research, I picked this one.  It did trick!  My marble floor looks so good!  The reason I gave 4 stars is that the machine comes with nothing.  If you just buy machine without purchasing accessories., you cant use it.  I  grateful many reviewers Said that in their reviews.  One thing is that different floor needs different pad or brush.  I bought green brush.  It is fine but doesnt polish the floors. The cheat sheet came with the machine said Marble floor need tan polish pad and white pad.  But Walmart doesnt have them both so I bought them from manufacturer.  I wish the description of the machine can at least provide this info, and have those pads available to purchase.  Machine is heavy.  But once you start, very easy to move around.  I strongly suggest to have a wet vacuum to suck dirty liquid off the floor after using the marble floor.  I use water and baking soda as my solution.  It works like a charm.

Great machine to clean marbleFloor

So far so good after one use on the marble floor. I used the cleaning operation and did not expect nor did i get a high shine.  That being said I was not supposed get a high polish to as this was not for polishing. I was pleased with this operation and i have bought items to be able to dry clean carpet and also polish the marble.  The orbiter worked well and i was impressed with the quality-to this date.

only one use so far on a marble kitchen floor.

We bought this orbiter after thorough reviews
for grout cleaning machines. Overall the machine is very well built, and does not have any components that are likely to break. The orbiter has many attachments to choose from. I bought a blue brush to use for porcelain tile. I used a combination of bleach, tide, and water to clean.

While the cleaning solution and brush did remove grime from my tile, it still required a lengthy amount of time to run the machine over the tile before noticing a difference. The machine weighs 25 lbs. and is easy to maneuver once turned on. The machine is most effective by using a side to side motion. A different brush, and cleaning solution might have been more effective. I will continue to use the machine do to it's versatility of use on carpet and concrete. However, I may purchase a steam cleaning mop for routine cleaning of the grout.

It's ok but not as good as expected. I does not do the concrete at all. I bought all attachments and none work on concrete. The tile was ok but again had to go over many times and it was just ok. I don't have a dirty house just white tile and it's a little better.

Nice machine but doesn't come with any accessories or pads and doesn't tell you that when you buy it.  You spend over $300 but still it doesn't work without pads and solution that you have to buy separately.  Wish I would have know that or it came with it.
