Can be convenient and retractable, but may not always retract smoothly.

We bought this after our not so old one from another company died.  This one is fantastic!  If you are looking for a lightweight one, this is not for you but if you want a mixer that is powerful, this is it.  The soft case is a good feature as it makes it easier to fit into drawers and keeps it clean.

A good strong mixer!

Bought this mixer almost a month ago and have used it half a dozen times. Very pleased with it, and love the retractable cord and rubber grip on the handle.

Only drawback is my old mixer had little clips on the side to store the beaters when not in use. This one doesn't , but it did come with a storage bag (and extra attachments).

For the price, this is a great deal.

Happy So Far

This hand mixer has outperformed expectations. If you suffer from any muscle weaknesses or carbo-tunnel syndrome this may not be the mixer for you as it is somewhat heavier than other mixers on the market. This machine lacks a "power boost" function(that most people are used to seeing these day's) but this should not present a problem has the 6 different speeds aliviates the need. Retractable cord is very nice feature. Attachments are some of the sturdier pieces out there, better than some more recognizable names. Storage case is also a very nice, keeps everything together, clean and protected. After a few weeks of ownership it has proven to make cake batters,doughs and whipped/mashed potatoes a far less duanting task. Nicely done Oster.

Solid and Powerful

While I'be only had this mixer for a short time, I'm impressed. Solid, works well and in comparison to my last mixer very quiet. The bag is great too.

Best hand mixer I've owned

Was delighted with the product. Love the fact everything is in a nice bag and parts don't clutter up my drawers. My last mixer was in a big box and hard to store as well as there were not as many attachments. Love this one!!!!

great features, much more modern than last model,

This is a great little mixer, and really good value for the money. It has a nice ''solid'' feel, and good strong stainless steel beaters. I love that it has its own carrying case ( no more rummaging through drawers to find the beaters !) and the retractable cord is a nice convenient safety feature. I have owned a lot of mixers in my long life, and I think this is the best one yet !! Very pleased with it.

A powerful little mixer !!

Lots of power. What you should expect with a beater. Cases nice and compact for storage. The beater has a auto roll-up for the cord but spring is too weak so you have to manually push it in

Good beater but cord rollup issues

Bought this mixer because of its looks, and the reviews posted.  Very happy with the product.   It is very sturdy, great handling and easy to use.  My only complaint, there is only one whisk, which was not useful when making Whipped cream.  There should be two, the same as the Dough hooks, and regular beaters.

Great handling

The whisker broke after three uses and I returned the product. I was only whisking whipping cream and one of the whisk's wire broke on the first speed. Was very disappointed as I had read so many good reviews.

After 7 months I was unable to keep the beater kept falling out of the socket.it appears that the plastic base which holds the beater I'd stripped? It is a shame as the hand mixer was a great solid machine .i was under the impression that Oster would backup there product for one year. Lesson learned
