Lid Design

This kettle has an audible beep when it reaches a boil. It looks great and works well. However there is a design flaw in that the spring-up top will stop working after about 6 months. You will then have to pry the lid open with a knife or just fill it using the spout. I've been using this model and find that I replace it about once evey 18 months.

Oster Electric Kettle with 5 Temperature Settings,

Previous model sounded a beep whenever the water boiled, also had a reboil feature which this one does not. Now it's just an ordinary stainless steel kettle with different temp settings. That was the main reason for repurchasing an Oster model. Now I might as well purchase any make..

Somewhat disappointed.

Love the variable settings! Our old Oster kettle lasted for 10 years, so we decided to go with another Oster and so far, it hasn't disappointed!

Water is leaking from ottom of kettle. I will return it over weekend.
