Can be annoying with flashing or constant blue light.

Fails to consistently dispense water through coffee grounds.

Lid does not stay shut, affecting functionality.

When dumping the grounds into the trash the washer that secures the nipple to the basket came loose and fell into the trash never to be found. I contacted Oster Customer Service and was totally satisfied with how they handled the situation. I am happy to report that Oster is sending me a new complete coffee maker. How about that for good service. I am very satisfied with Oster and will consider buying their products in the future.

I got this for Christmas and love the size, style, and timer features. Best feature is the autoshutoff after 2 hours.
Only thing that is a problem is the steam coming out of the pot when you pour coffee. I haven't figured out where the steam path is but it raises directly onto your hand. Maybe engineering can block something in the next decanter design.

Great unit but........

I purchased this item a couple months ago and have been happy with the product up to this point. The carafe is very brittle. During a hand wash in the sink, the bottom came off completely! I didn't expect it to last forever but this is truly a disappointment. I would not recommend this product to any avid coffee drinker due to this. I purchased a previous coffeemaker at a flea market that lasted me many years. I had decided to upgrade to a digital, automatic maker so it would be ready in the morning for me. Unfortunate that I tossed it when I made this purchase. I am purchasing another carafe online.... reluctantly.

Good product for the price. Breaks easily.

It makes great coffee. I like strong flavour coffee, so the Brew Selector button is a useful feature for me. The cleaning reminder button is also useful, but be aware it requires 4 cups / 1 litre of vinegar to clean. I have not used the automatic timing feature so I can't comment on that. 

However, there are two annoying design faults that justify the low rating.

1.	The worst feature is that there is a significant ledge, about 1 inch, on the inside of the carafe. The ledge is where the handle is attached to the carafe, and is probably on the inside of the carafe so the outside has a smooth "Euro" appearance. This smooth appearance comes at a heavy price: the ledge makes pouring out the last of the coffee very difficult and rinsing the carafe almost impossible. The only way to get coffee or water fully out of the carafe is to remove the lid and shake it vigorously upside down, ideally over the sink. Even that doesn't work to fully empty the carafe because the coffee or water will slip inside the lip, and then flow back into the carafe when you turn it right side up again. Worse, the coffee/water will flow on the outside of the carafe too, so now you have to rinse both the inside and the outside again. You are stuck in this frustrating endless cycle of rinsing out the coffee that has flowed back into out the carafe, shaking it upside down, then righting it only to watch coffee / watch flow back on both sides of the carafe. I wonder how long the coffee has lodged inside the lip, so it might be last week's/last month's coffee that is flowing into the carafe. Yuck. Makes you wonder if the designers ever use the coffee maker themselves.
2.	The second annoying design fault is a grid over the water reservoir, where you pour the water in. I don't know what the grid is designed to keep out – leaves maybe?  What the grid does do is prevent water from actually going into the reservoir. Unless you pour the water very slowly in a narrow trickle, the water will not go into the reservoir but instead flood over the top of the coffee maker and onto your counter. Anyone using the maker for the first time will stand back stunned that they have now flooded the counter and possibly the floor. You need to be very patient pouring the water slowly into the reservoir. The grid is firmly attached to the top of the reservoir so it can't easily be removed. Again, do the designers actually use the coffee maker – if they did, this fault would be extremely obvious

I've had this machine less than a year. The spring-loaded tip of the brew basket came off, apparently because a cheap plastic retaining washer broke. This failure makes the coffee-maker worthless, because without the brew-basket tip, water flows through the coffee grounds too quickly. (To make matters worse, it does not seem that Oster sells replacement parts for its coffee-makers.)

Cheap part broke, coffeemaker now worthless.

Consumer Care

I bought it less than 4 months ago, the lid does not stay shut, so the pot can't push the little stopper up for the coffee to drip into the pot. The grounds overflow all over my counter and onto my floor, they ended up in the reservoir and it is now clogged with coffee grounds. TERRIBLE!!!!!

Don't get this maker

We were gifted this coffee maker in January 2016. It stopped suddenly this week. The time displays, and the buttons light up, but the heating mechanism doesn't work.

Leaked from broken hose

I bought this just over a year ago, have used only a few times and am now dealing with a broken part.  As many others wrote, the small plastic part broke and can't be repaired. Instead of this basket being a single part for the machine, it now consists of FOUR. I would expect a coffee maker to last more than a few uses.  Poor craftsmanship.

Cheap Materials

What's wrong with this??? I used to loved my coffee maker as it just wakes me up every morning having my coffee ready for me, then suddenly today it just doesn't work anymore, I turned on, put coffee and water then the red light comes up, it clicks as it will brew my coffee but NOTHING, it just simple don't work, as far as I read there's no other solution than replacing it???unbelievable!!!

Man it just don't work anymore...after only 1 year
