I had three-in-1 lamp sitting in the box for a few months before we finally set it up.  It was set up as a floor lamp with the magnifying light.  It works great!  The base was much heavier than I expected, which works well to keep the lamp stable.  I was darning socks and could angle the magnifying light to where ever I needed it while sitting on the couch.  I already have a clamp on Ott light that I have used on my treadle sewing machine table for almost 3 decades.  That is why I stayed with Ott for this 3-in-1 light.

Very good for crafts extremely good product you will not be disappointed. I had a house fire and mine was damaged I needed to get a replacement I did not pick another brand or style I got the same one I had before if that doesn't tell you how much I liked it I don't know what will.

Couldn't pick anything better

I LOVE this light for crocheting. It has a holder to hold my pattern. I can't wait to use the magnifying light for cross stitch. There are so many ways to use this light. You can attach it to a table or desk, or it comes with a very sturdy stand. I think OttLite is the best for crafting. I have tried other brands that don't compare. It's worth the extra money, and the cheapest price I have found is on Walmart!

The best light for crafting!

As I have gotten older my eyesight has gotten worse and even with glasses I could no longer cross-stitch.  I had all but given up on my hobby for the last 5 years.  In desperation I decided to take a chance on the OttLite 3-in-1 Craft Lamp and to my utter amazement and joy I am back to stitching.  The combination of light and magnification has brought my hobby back to me and I couldn't be more thrilled.  The only change I would make to this lamp is to make the magnifier have a slightly longer arm so I can more easily position it directly in the middle of my body while I sit in my big comfy armchair to stitch.

I like the light and it's not hot which is great. I just wish it had controls that would let you turn down light to low when you need less light. I also wish grabber clip was a small light that you could use to get close.  Overall I like it!

Crochet user

This is my third 3 in 1 lamp.  The first did not have the light around the magnifier.  I upgraded to the one with the light.  It lasted well over a year before the mag light was snapped off by a friend.  She replaced the light and this one just snapped also.  I barely touched it.  They are both duct taped to continue using them.  If the design is improved I would love to have another, but if the light is just going to snap off in a year, it's not really worth it.

I'm so glad I didn't pay full price for this product. I wanted to use it as a floor lamp but was never able to insert the head into the pole. I finally gave up and installed the head into the base to use as a table lamp. The instructions weren't as clear as they could have been, especially for the floor lamp. The magnifier is pretty low quality as well, when looking through it things appear distorted. The light itself is pretty bright.

Meh.

I used this lamp on 4 Cross Stitch kits with no issues.  Had it in a closet for a few years and pulled it out to work on another Cross Stitch.   After using it for a month the Magnifying Light just snapped off.  I really love this lamp but after reading some of the reviews I'm hesitant on getting another one as a replacement.

This is the second floor lamp style Ott Lamp we have purchased in a 12 month period. The first had a faulty design that resulted in the two pieces of a supplied pole failing time after time. Recently we purchased another that appeared to be better designed and constructed. NOT TRUE! ON first day, the illuminated magnifying glass broke away from its supporting member. Reason was total failure of "epoxy" between magnifying glass and arm. For the cost, Ott light needs to hire better designers and spend more time and money on field testing a design to make sure it will not fail right out of the box.
