I got this lamp as a christmas gift in 2019. As a light it works well and is bright, and can be turned in many directions. I don't use the colour-changing feature all that much because despite the sticker showing the whole spectrum, and the box art showing a purple setting, it can't actually do purple or pink. It only goes green, cyan, deep blue, teases you with pink as it settles on bright scarlet, orange, a greenish yellow, and back to green. Now, my biggest issue with this product though, is the balance. Because you have a tall structure leaning to one side with a fairly narrow base, it's very prone to falling forward. I understand this is an older product now and can't actually be found on the OttLite website anymore, so maybe they realized the problem and have fixed it with newer models, but just be warned that this problem exists with this model. The reason I've finally decided to write a review for this is because after having fallen countless times, it's finally taken noticeable damage; of the 3 rows of LED lights, the two outer rows have completely gone out, leaving it's light a dim yellow-orange. Lovely, isn't it?
