I purchased this case for the new OnePlus 3 that was released 06/14/2016.  The day I ordered the phone I ordered this case.  The case came a day after the phone arrived with standard shipping.  Kinda slow I think since the phone came all the way from China and cleared customs.  Otter box needs to name this case style.  My other otter box's are defender and commuter.  But this one is nameless.  The backing is slippery in my hand.  And on the surfaces that you set it on.  Protection is good.  Side buttons are good and side switch is very accessible.  Speaker, USB C port, mic, headphones jack all accessable and sound from speaker isn't blocked.  What I like is this case keeps the protruding camera lens safe from scratching.

OnePlus 3 case

I bought this case a few weeks ago and though it is attractive, I have a few issues. My first disappointment was in being unable to grab a waterproof case for my oneplus 3t. Otter box sprung to mind immediately when I was thinking protection, but I admit, I was disappointed. 

Not wanting to try something else, I did grab the one case available for my phone. The to piece design had my hopes up, as I've used a few different cases before and two step+ usually protects better. However, this specific case feels somewhat... Lax. 

The inner piece feels a bit thin, and the outer shell has the same feel to it. They don't so much snap together as simply fit with each other. Luckily I haven't had a true fall yet to test them, but the two pieces often simply come apart and need to be pushed back together. Frequently, the top corners simply slide off from just being in a pocket and need to be pressed back onto the phone itself. This makes me very nervous I'm afraid. I've enjoyed snap together cases in the past and was never let down, but this case has me very uncomfortable. I find myself babying my phone even more than normal because of it. 

I'll update my review after a few falls, but I'm not at all looking forward to them.

Could be better

Protects really well, but the design looks like a US sports shoe... Makes my slim smartphone look fat as it is such a broad case.  The case also lifts up my 3D screen protector in the corners so that I am constantly having air bubbles below it which prevent me from typing.  The otters should get an Italian designer and rework the whole thing,  protection alone is not everything that makes a good case shield.

Good protection,  lousy design

I was surprised to find that Otter had a case ready so fast for the OnePlus 3.  I ordered it and two cases from other vendors so I could try a few and have some options.  The Otter case arrived fastest, and is very nice.  The rubber case fits very snug which is good because it's also very soft and flexible (more on that later).  The plastic shell fits flush and smooth to the outside of the rubber, and when assembled it feels like a well-integrated unit... No edges stick up anywhere to catch on or suggest this is two pieces.  It doesn't add very much bulk to the phone, but I believe the hard case and soft rubber will provide exactly the protection I need from small drops.  It also feels great in the hand, the texture is well placed and I don't think i'll be dropping it by accident.

There is one bad thing about this case:  The plastic cover wraps around the sides and over the top of the phone, but on the sides it only goes about half-way up the phone.  This is clearly to expose the area of the rubber that covers the buttons, but with the top half of the rubber uncovered, the rubber can easily peel away from the phone in these areas.  This is exacerbated by the softness of the rubber, which makes it even easier to peel the edge back with your finger when you're passing the time.  Your thumb just naturally falls to this spot on the case, so it's the natural spot for nervous fingers to niggle away.  Both (non-Otter) cases I had for my OnePlus One had the same problem, and over time the rubber just took on a bowed out shape there, which doesn't look as nice.  I hope this case doesn't do the same!

Great case but one flaw...

I bought the gold and white case and honestly it's just "okay"  I feel like my phone is protected fine but the more flexible material that goes under the plastic is not durable at all.  I have had the case for about a month and it is already starting to look used.  As a younger guy I pull my phone out alot and it's kinda embarrassing at times because the blue of my blue jeans has rubbed off onto the top of the case ( picture provided).  If you need a case fast I recommend this because there are few cases for the 1+3 but I'll always keep an eye out for something better.

It's alright.

This case is fine if you are looking for a case with limited protection.  I have an Otterbox Defender case on my iPhone 5s and was expecting something similar for the Oneplus 3T which it isn't.  I ended up ordering another case constructed more like the Defender but from a different manufacturer.  If you are looking for a slim case with limited protection this should be fine but if your after heavy duty protection this isn't the case for you.

Not what I expected

I purchased this from their website three weeks ago and received it on Tuesday. Shipping was on the slow end but it came eventually. Packaging was satisfactory nothing fancy but it got here in one piece. It doesn't feel like the most protective case I've ever had, nor the most productive case for its price range. However this phone has limited options and this is currently the leader. It doesn't seem like it would save it from more than a foot drop so If your getting up from the ground and it falls out of your lap it's good. If you drop it from chest level during use, it would be a goner. The two piece construction is frustrating and they should come up with a better solution it never fits together well and you have to fidget with it a lot, and then it doesn't stay for long. But it will get me through a while

Good enough

I am grateful to have purchased such a high quality product. My OnePlus 3 is amazing in of itself, but had some slight annoyances from which my OtterBox provided deliverance. The screen is so close to the edge of the phone that my fat thumbs would inadvertently trigger something simply by holding it. With OtterBox, I can easily hold my phone and perform all of my phoney tasks with immaculate and meticulous ease. Also, the OtterBox makes it to where the side buttons have a more appropriate sensitivity, so I can actually press the volume/power buttons deliberately instead of experiencing the misfortune of accidentally locking my phone.

I fully recommend OtterBox to anyone who wishes to comfortably hold and operate the beautiful OnePlus 3. Obviously, it has great protective qualities and drop protection, but I have no intent to test this feature.

Ultimate Phone Holding Device

I have been using this case on my OP3 for a little over a week now.  So far the case is great - non-slip rubber where it should be to hold, but slippery so it comes in and out of the pocket well.

The fit could be a tad snugger - the corners of the phone can relatively easily slide out of the case, but it is not at risk of falling out.

Certainly the best and most protective of the OP3 cases on the market.

Best Available - Room For Improvement

I bought this after having other Otterbox cases fro other phones. On the whole a good product giving adequate light protection to the phone. Its not water resistant and the piece of material between the slide switch and the front of the case is a bit waffy which reduces the strength of the case at the top right as viewed in the picture above. which is why I haven't given it a 5 star rating.
