Can be snug, but also loose in certain areas.

Provides excellent screen and body coverage.

The armor I have used & abused for 16 years still works! With the IPhone 17 Pro Max even the bright orange shines through the camera window in my favorite blue defender case. 
Pro Tip: the sneaky little traitor is the camera notch on the phone and case. Even with all setting hacks deployed it still takes a deft delicate touch not to turn the camera on while holding, carrying, or watching the screen. Luxury problem to suffer through.

Defender Otterbox case for the WIN!

This is my third defender case. They've protected my last two iPhones and now my 17 pro max. They've taken many hard falls, in and out of the house. Not a crack or scratch. The only thing I wish they'd add is a sliding screen for the back camera. This addition would make this case perfect. I don't know how that keeps being overlooked.

It's a good quality case only issue is the button on the side is a little annoying. I know someone with a different case in that button is recessed so it is harder to accidentally push it. But I do trust that my phone is safe in the case.

Great case but the button for camera is annoying

This particular Defender case does not fit the iPhone 17 Pro as snug as I am used to. I have been purchasing the Defender for all of my iPhones for over 10 years and they fit quite tight and last for several years before I usually replace them with a new one. So of course I would go with what I knew, but this case does not fit as tight to the phone, especially around the camera area, which means I will probably end up having to replace it within six months as it loosens with wear and tear.

Not up to the standards of previous versions

The case is generally fine however the frame around the screen does not cover the color of the phone so you see the edges of the phone. Does not look like it was measured correctly. Camera button way too sensitive.

not up to Otterbox standards

Nice quality and material as I would expect from Otterbox.  Good grip and protection as well.  Colors compliment my hot-orange iPhone 70-pro well.  One complaint is that the new "camera button" on the side of the phone is not protected well.  The button surround activates the button as well as the button itself, meaning I'm activating the camera all the time.  Irritating.

Great phone cover, but...

Case seemed like it would be great protection but the camera control button was very sensitive. I'd be taking pictures just by holding or grabbing the case. Had to send it back.

Nice protective case except cameras control bad

I have been a long-time fan of OtterBox cases due to their quality and durability. However, I find this year's design disappointing. The camera control button is overly sensitive, making it nearly impossible to hold or handle the phone without accidentally pressing it.

iPhone 17 Pro Max Defender Series Pro Case

After many years as an otter box user and fan this years offering was very disappointing. The fit of the case was not adequate. The edges of the top of the new orange phone showed and constantly shifted and moved in the case. As stated earlier Otterbox was always my go to case for every phone. Sadly, I have returned the case and am trying another. On the positive, my wife is still using her Otters for both iPad and iPhone and I have been using my iPad Otterbox for 5 years. Return to the quality of the past and I will likely return.

Disappointed

The camera button on the 17 pro case is horrible. It is too sensitive and caused the camera button to be pressed whenever touching it, not even pressing it in. They should have kept the 16 pro design. Disappointed I paid full price for this case.
