I am buying this as an identical replacement for my existing one.  I was very happy with this model.  It survived many drops without damaging the phone. because the rubber is thick and soft, a pro.  Because it is a soft rubber it deteriorates and needs to be replaced as it ages, a con.

I admit it, I tried a knock off, it was okay for about a month, but something was never quite right. Then of course I lost my phone because it came UN-snapped. Deep down inside I knew this day was going to happen, and I was so annoyed at myself that the small amount of money I saved was so insignificant now that my phone was gone. I was fortunate enough that a good Samaritan fellow airport traveler turned my phone in. I immediately purchased a genuine Otter Box, don't go to the dark side, stick with the proven best and have peace of mind your phone is secure.

I purchased an OtterBox cover Defender for my Note 3 that was 5 years ago and it's an Immaculate condition that's why I repeat my purchase what's the Note 3 it had a screen cover I was really expecting you screen cover what's my note 9 and finding an adequate screen cover that was fit OtterBox Defender Series is a little bit troubling but all in all I still find it a great product

Had a Defender case on my old note 4
& thought it was great so when I upgraded to the note 9 it was what I bought.
I was a bit dubious as it had no screen protector like the old one but bought an Alpha Glass Protector & now with this combination its bulletproof.
Would highly recommended this case.

Note 9 Defender case

I just had this installed on my phone since I bought it about 3 weeks ago. It's very solid and beautiful, and the coverage is very great. My only concern is that it is not sitting atop the screen protector fully. It's therefore causing a crackling noise whenever I touch some parts of the screen. I guess I have to purchase another screen protector to see if this will stop the problem.

A Good Quality Case

I have always used otterbox to protect my phones.  I was disappointed to see that there is no protection for the note S pens. Several times I have bumped my phone only to realize that the pen has come ajar or even fallen completely out of the phone. Please consider adding some kind of protection for the S pen. Thanks.

Excellent but missing one thing

Owned various otterbox defender cases over the years I trust the durability and protection with my life. I work in a warehouse. I drop my phone often prob my 300th drop finally did her in however still used same case on replacement with confidence and further drops without issues. MY MAIN PROBLEM WITH OTTERBOX DEFENDER CASES IS POOR QI CHARGEING had issues with s7 edge very touch placement problems for it to charge but with my note9 I get NO QI chargeing on both Samsung qi wireless charger and a NANAMI QI FASTCHARGE I had to purchase a separate USBC qi pad to go inbetween the plastic defender case and the defender rubber outer case to get chargeing connectivity. I did all the reading before even on otterbox forums and everyone even otterbox forum mods said it works np. Why have I had issues? I know how to properly place on qi charger that's not the issue the otterbox defender case plastic layer and rubber is to thick to allow the coils to be close enough or have a strong enough connection. Great case dont regret it but a little annoying qi doesn't work without a 3rd party qi usbc pad workaround which now I have a USB connector always hanging out of the case :/

Long time otter box user but poor qi charging tho

purchased this case for my note 9. very good protection with one small caveat: i think if the sides were imm higher it would give greated protection. as was the case with the older defenders. punters dont buy the defender for high style !
still one of the best protectors on the market.

great case

OtterBox

I have used Otterbox for years.  I bought what I thought was their premier best case.  There is no front protection at all. So along with spending the money on what has always been the best case out there, now I have to send more for a good screen cover.  I am really disappointed in this.

Not happy with case

I've had OtterBox on my note 8 and note 9 both times my S-Pen area is the first to get damaged and If you drop the phone on the corners it will push into the screen and crack it. Lucky this time I had a screen protector that took the impact pressure. OtterBox please work on making this the best phone case out there as it was back in the Note 5 case days.

Need to work on somethings.

Hate that this has no screen protector its both anpro and a con..no dust under my screen yet also im using the otterbox designed screennprotector (doesnt hit sides of otterbox) yet its already peeling off after a day in my pocket, i can only imagine from the casebeing squeezed  as i move around.. and dirt is already under this too yay...and it moves if inpress too hard -_-
