I bought this because there was a fire ban in our area and we were not allowed campfires but we were allowed to use one of these. This is the best money I have spent in a long time. So easy to use and if you only want to sit at a fire for 1/2hr or so this is the way to go. Full 20lb propane tank will provide 7hrs of campfires on the high setting. Also great for roasting marshmallows on the low setting. Takes less than 1 minute to set up and start. Highly recommended.

Best money I have spent in a long time.

I bought this because I love having fires in my back yard.  With the fire ban being on so often...this has worked out great and throws off great heat too.  This pic is of my mother and my dog enjoying it.

great addition

I bought this to use with our RV since fire band are often in place through the summer. It works beautifully to provide consistent heat without sparks flying (safer for kiddos). You can still roast your hot dogs and marshmallows over the flames and you know it's put out properly at the end of the night.

Exactly What You Need!

I received it a while ago but didnt have chance to try it until recently, good quality, easy set up and a great addition to outdoor life without the worry to cause a fire on dry months.
It would be perfect if it came with a carry case not just the straps but for the price, not a big deal!

Great firepit!

After first use some of the rocks were quite black - make sure you leave a little room around the ring to let air through.

I was in touch with Outland about this - and apparently the rocks will go a little black and discolour a little bit - but this is normal to make it look like a real fire. You have to move the rocks around once in awhile.

My husband did use a toothbrush to clean some of the black off the rocks and looks much better.

Overall we love our Firebowl once we got the colour of the rocks sorted out. We have it on our deck and is quick and easy use - gives off lots of nice heat.

Good to be able to have a fire with out the hassel

I use this basin almost every day... at home in my gazebo, camping when it rains and even when it does not rain... I love it! - Oh, my God.

I purchased this for a weekend camping trip to Alberta's Rockies where it gets quite cold at night but there was still a fire ban in place.  With a group of 10+, this little unit kept everyone warm and we were able to use it for cooking as well.  Definitely recommend getting the cover, in fact, I think it's absurd that it is sold without one hence why I didn't give it the full 5 stars.  If you're transporting it or storing it anywhere, those rocks get awfully dirty and the cover is necessary.
Finally, my only criticism is that we went through an entire 500 gallon tank of propane each night so be prepared to use up at least a tank a day.
