I really like the size of this lantern. It has 3 light settings. The highest setting is very bright, 
so don't look directly into the light.
It also has a hook for you to hang it if you want to. I also bought the mini size and love both
of these lanterns. Great for power outages or for dark spaces like closets, attics and basement.

This item gave me a run for my money...upon placing new batteries in it, it would come on then not.  We'll... my bad as you have to click the button very quick to have it work right and to get to the 4 different modes.  It works great, after realizing the fast, quick button clicks!  Don't return, it's you!

For the price and sturdiness of how this item is made, I was pleasantly surprised! Though I must admit the only frustration is the battery placement is incredibly taught and somewhat difficult to smush in there, I can't really complain about it however as I am incredibly clumsy and even with the top off while placing new ones in it somehow flew from my grasp and they never budged from place! It also has a handy little pull string thing like old school battery pack items all had and that has done wonders for me as well- I only have had to change the batteries as I leave it running throughout the entire day and into the night in my camper for my dog while I have to work, even with the cheapest of batteries it's lasted two to three days on! The brightness level could be brighter of course, but for the price point and length of battery time it doesn't need it to be useful still. It also has two settings for different power levels  you can easily interchange with a double tap of the power button upon turning on! It is not solar nor does it have any other settings that I have come across on my own ( such as a strobe option, thought it may be available, I just didn't read that far along honestly!) I am very happy with this purchase and definitely recommend!

Worth it for a simple little camp light!

These Ozark Trail headlamps are great. I own two. This one in particular is unbelievably bright with multiple light settings. These headlamps have absolutely changed the way I work when repairing anything that requires bright light and close in work. I don't have to fiddle with getting a light set up and pointed in the right direction. This solves the lighting needs and keeps my hands free.

Great headlamp at a great price

Bought these lamps for camping they are bright enough for what we need and the reason I bought these was because they do take regular batteries and at home I have a bunch of rechargeables batteries. the downside of buying a light that has a built-in battery is that the batteries overtime usually degrades overtime meaning you have to throw away the lamp. so these should last me a long time.

Nice little camping light

I loved this little thing! However, if you notice the past tense there, I absolutely hate the strap around the head- it's was very comfortable and seemed easy in terms of adjusting BUT for whatever reason it would not stay on the strap! It ended up slipping off one night the first two weeks I had it and the light flew down a flight of stairs (still managed to work!) but a price that held that back on for the batteries shattered and wouldn't stay on for long after that. I do wish charging was available but for the price and battery longevity, the levels of brightness aren't bad-actually, the brightest is the best of all my recent light/lamp related purchases! Not sure how great it would be for something like hunting but worked well enough for a broad spectrum close up for me to do a bit of night fishing and rummage through trails in the woods so would be a great addition for hikers I think too!- fix that darn strap issue and I'd buy this over and over again especially in a pinch!

Batteries were hard to install initially. Had to use a rubber mallet the first installation. After that, it was easier. 
Button must  be pressed quickly in succession for the brighter lights. So, if you turn it on and decide you need a brighter light, it will turn off when you press the button and you have to start over. Minor inconvenience . 
Anyway, got it for my mom as we live in an area prone go power outages (pesky storms and hurricanes!) and she doesn't need to sit in a dark house  while waiting for the power to come back on.

Ozark 1000 Lumen LED Lantern w/5 modes

This lantern is smaller than a picture can actually show, it is one step away from being a Night Light! lol  I got one for my friend last year and she was okay with it, but not if you need something bigger. I will return this item when I get the time and look for a bigger one.

I chose this one because of the price. My recommendation is pay a little more and get better quality. It is hard to turn on, turn off. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. You have to keep fighting with it to get it to work. It seems pretty dim. I don't recommend this product. I promise you, you would rather spend more and get something reliable.

Don't waste your money

well I wanted to get this 1000 lumen light for backup. I have the little smaller one that is only supposed to be 180 lumens. it's atleast 3 times brighter than this one , and I must've gotten the last of these at the 9.98 price because now they're like 17 bucks . no thanks. if I ever get any more it'll be the small ones.. they'll light up a whole room.. 2 or 3 and   it would be perfectly lit I do believe . not so with this one . maybe without the plastic housing around it .

this little think fits in the palm of your hand.  if you are looking for a itty-bitty latern with low light, this is for you.  and don't forget, the batteries are separate.  do deal here.
