The blankets for the 850 were sold out.  The size of the 'barrel' is about the same as the 700 series so, I took a chance.  It fits just fine.  The embedded magnets do all the work so the rear straps not being able to connect doesn't matter.    It seems to capture the heat better in the cooler (35-40 degree) evenings that my grill struggled to get to 450F before.

IT FITS THE 850 TOO!

Installation was stupid simple. It's held on by strong magnets. Heats up lots quicker in below zero (Fahrenheit) cooking and holds temp very well without using as much fuel as before. The only downside is that it doesn't keep ME as warm when I'm standing in front of it - I used to get lots of warmth and most of that is gone now.

Big help

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fits the Pit Boss 700 perfectly. Well made. Magnets hold to metal with no problem. Came in handy when smoking a brisket during cold weather. Temperature held steady for hours. Would highly recommend.

Must have item

This is my first smoker so I cant compare it to anything. I did some research and found it to be a good product for the money as I couldn't see spending a lot just for a name. Ive since used it a few times and can say I was very happy with the outcome especially the brisket (Yummy!!). I also purchased the thermal blanket as its suppose to help maintain the temperature when it gets real hot or cold outside.

Very good smoker for the money

Cover fit as described. Really like the imbedded magnets that hold the cover tight to the unit while in use, keeping the lid positively closed.

Pellet usage decreased accurate heating

The blanket is just the thing for grilling and smoking in cooler weather. The only thing that could stand a change is the strap at back of the cover, they are too short. Other than that, it's a great product.

Insulated cover

easy to install and covers smoker well.  However straps on around the legs won't fasten together - not sure why they need them anyway.
