Love that can remove the nozzle to clean the cap and avoid mold growth! Wish the outside of the bottle was slightly textured instead of smooth though, to make it less slippery when wet and also stays better in behind the saddle mounted bottle cages.

The key to the brilliance of this bottle is the top. In the open or out position it easily delivers your fluids but it doesn't leak if you tip it upside down or if you ride over a few bumps. On the bike there's really no need to put the spigot in the locked position but if you do, you don't need two hands to open it. I wish I had discovered this bottle sooner, it makes me upset for all the rides I've spent using leaky, fidgety sub-par products.

The best quality bottle I've found on the market. It combines extra-large capacity with a valve that closes completely when closed, flows fast when open, and is easy to clean if (when) I forget to rinse out the drink mix. Just what I need to keep me hydrated with no worries.

My "go-to" bottles

I first switched to Polar Breakaway water bottles when attempting to downsize to a 20-ounce size. Two 20-ounces of hydration wasn't really enough for one ride, so since I liked the Breakaway bottle as much as I did, I went ahead and got two 24-ounce bottles. What I particularly like is the strong lid that screws on positively and tightly, the spout that gives generous fluids quickly, and the correct bottle wall thickness that can draw air back into the bottle without waiting long after it has somewhat collapsed from the vacuum created. It's an excellent weight, holds tightly in the bottle cages, looks great, and my hydration drinks aren't contaminated with unwanted flavor. Now I carry one 24-ounce and one 20-ounce which is just enough for me.

My Go-To Water Bottles Now

I use this bottle for my local short to medium length mountain biking.. It's not insulated and I'm not riding for over three hours so I figure this bottle will be just fine. I bought it on accident thinking it was the insulated version. I kept it anyway knowing its use and great cap design. If you are about to buy this bottle then just buy the insulated version instead.

I previously purchased 2 - 24 oz, insulated bottles.  I LOVE them.  I recently purchased 2 of the 24 oz Wave Blue bottles, BUT, I thought they would be the same height as my 2 -24 oz insulated bottles, they are not, they are shorter.  If I had known, I would have purchased the 30 oz Wave Blue.

Note: I ride on terrain that has many bumps and potholes causing the water to slosh around in the bottle.
THE GOOD:easy to disassemble for thorough cleaning. 
Less than good: when opening the bite valve, a small amount of water exits between the valve and the lid. it is not enough to soak you but enough to annoy you.it does this on both bottles I purchased.

Breakaway 24 oz water bottle

I have 4 of these.  Like the seal of the top caps.  Haven't had a leak yet. You can also take them completely apart,  which can be disgusting when not doing it for close to a year.  But fortunately,  you can buy replacement caps.

I've purchased several bottles and decided to try the larger 30oz.  Beware, you lose the insulation and it does not keep your fluids cold!  I would return if I hadn't used them.  Waste if money for me.
