I am no professional but I have spread a lot of paint. Currently, I am restoring an old K-Framed, steel bench from the late fifties. I am using Rustoleum to paint the frame. I chose Blue Hawk 2" brushes to do the priming and the Aluminum Color from Rustoleum which, as always with gold and silver, is very thin. The blue hawks actually worked pretty good. For the gloss red and white, I selected a Wooster premium brush for all oil based paints and it was a piece of junk. I wouldn't load nor spread right and left a terrible finish. I bought a couple of Purdy XL Elite Dales to continue and WOW are they ever nice. They load and hold excellently and they spread so smoothly and evenly, that they made me look like a pro. I was impressed and think that they are the best brushes I have ever used. Great product you guys!

The brush has a solid wood handle which is comfortable to grip.  The brush is an ultra-stiff bristle and is perfect for low VOC and thicker-bodied coatings.  I highly recommend as this brush is made to last!

That you could use a cheap paint brush. But that isn't the case. A nicer brush makes your paint come on so much easier and looks so much nicer. So I will definitely always use a better brush!

Gets the job done

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Purdy for years and the XL Elite Dale Brush lives up to the Purdy Name.
I used it to do the cut-in work on kitchen cabinets. The brush holds the paint and is a nice stiff brush. It does not leave streaks and makes for even coats of paint. I did not experience any shedding and it held its shape for the entire project and during a rigorous cleaning. It cleans easily with warm water right after use. The tapered edge makes it easy to get tight spots and to get to the edge of the project. Purdy has never let me down in all the projects I have done, if I am doing painting or staining I know this brush will do the job.

They come in a variety of sizes as well and they are super easy to clean up when the job is done. A lot of heavier bodied paints don't always spread evenly and smoothly but they do with this elite brush. The wooden handle is comfortable to grip and use. High quality paint brush.

Any small areas I could not reach before, I was able to with this brush. Very comfortable handle as well.
