Instructions

Is a nice addition to my large bedroom, deep storage for bulky winter covers - only issue is that I prefer real wood - this has few 'particle pieces which splintered but repaired w wood glue - will keep, the cheap price , I couldn't afford the 800$ ones right now :)

This is a nice piece of furniture. Easy to assemble, comes with the only tool you need. I like the way it locks the pieces together. Good workmanship. Everything fits perfectly together. Looks like time was taken to engineer this.

Very Nice Chest

It was easy to put together. And it is absolutely beautiful. I just didn't think about the fact that it did not have a key.

Cedar chest

I am really very happy with this purchase and especially how great it blends with other furniture in my bedroom.  It is a deep, long, chest, but not very wide, but I have still been able to put a lot of my blankets and quilts in it by simply folding them differently, which definitely makes me very happy to clear some space on my closet shelves!  It would be beautiful at the foot of my queen sized bed, but I am using it in front of my double windows for my cats and little dog to get on to look out the windows!  I bought some of that rubberized shelving material and cut it to the size of the top of the chest and laid a beautiful quilt that matches the quilt on my bed on the top and it  looks so good.  The rubberized product keeps the quilt from slipping off the chest and also protects the top of the chest as well.  And my fur babies love both the quilt being on it and the view from the top!  I love that it has a finished back and that the hinge works.  The lid does stay open when you raise it!  Nice!

I would have given it a 5 star rating except for the following:
1.  The instructions were not very clear.
2.  It arrived with a slightly damaged edge on 1 corner, but I was able to touch it up             and to me it wasn't damaged enough to make me send it back.
3.  It had odd, small floor protector gadgets on the bottom to protect your flooring, which were applied with a staple gun.  They should have been larger in diameter and screwed in, not stapled, or glued on felt pads.   Two of those floor protectors came off when I pushed the chest to the room I wanted to put it in.  Good thing I put old towels underneath those feet first or the staples would have ruined my wood floors.  They would ruin carpet as well if you moved it.  I debated on taking them off during assembly and replacing them with felt strips, which is what I ended up doing when the 2 came out.  To me this is a major manufacturer defect that needs to be corrected.  Had those protectors ruined my wood floors when I moved it, I would have sued the manufacturer!

I still am very proud of my cedar chest and am very glad I bought it and yes, I would recommend it to anyone, but I would tell them to replace the floor protectors first thing and be prepared for several hours of trying to figure out how to put it together.  I LOVE IT!  It looks fabulous in my bedroom!

Good looking piece of furniture

Look great and smells like cedar. I little confusion with latches, but directions were clear.

Nice Chest

First off, the reason I'm only giving three stars is because one front corner was broken off in shipping.  Everything else was good.  The entire inside is covered in a cedar veneer and the chest is large enough to hold a couple of blankets, a comforter and several pillows.  The quality seems to be good.  The piece fits in well with fine wood furniture.  That part is impressive.  If the piece had not broken off, I would have given the chest 5 stars.  I did take out the insurance, so I'll see if there will be any compensation made.

Coaster Company Cedar Chest

I purchased this for my granddaughter's graduation.  When it arrived, the back of it was deeply scarred in many places.  I don't know how to return it so we went ahead and put it together.  It was quite difficult to put together, but that can't compare with the disappointment of how it looks.  I wish I'd never purchased it and cannot recommend it at all.

Damaged

that is very disappointed about this product had it delivered when started to assemble found out that one of the sides was missing all for drill holes for dowel pins and fasteners pins

So many problems. Arrived with chip on upper right front corner, no equivalent damage on box, so shipped that way. Instructions clumsy. Some pictures are too small to show orientation of ends such as spring loaded support arms. Speaking of which, one was so tight that on first closing it ripped out of the lid before it would bend. Upon removal it took all my strength to fold and I'm a big guy. Package was missing 4 screws needed to complete attaching feet. If I could give it a negative rating I would.

Waste of money

We are returning this item, unpacked and there was significant damage to the edges and it was just not a good quality of work. Very disappointing, was looking forward to having a chest after wanting one for so many years.
