It doesn't "deflate" and your head doesn't sink to the bottom like many other pillows. The initial firmness was a bit too much, so I removed one of the inner "pancake" layers and found the perfect softness level.

A no brainer

I already have some of these but wanted to replace all my pillows. Its simple to decide what softness or firmness you want in your pillow by adding or deleting a layer. Its also so easy to wash and dry the layers.
