Papermate use to be a good brand but was disappointed that the pencil lead kept breaking when I was sharpening them.  I guess because they didn't cost that much.

Not as good as they use to be!

These pencils were horrible. Immediately upon sharpening the lead would break without even using the pencil. It kept consistently happening to the point that the new pencils have been sharpened to short stubs within a day. Even once sharpened, a short bit of use and the tips break so easily. Total garbage and a waste of money. I've bought this brand before and didn't have this issue so I'm not sure what happened this time. Won't be buying pencils from this brand again.

Terrible

I bought a pack of these some time ago, and took some out to sharpen. Went to sharpen 3 and the lead kept breaking. I tried using another sharpener but the lead still broke. All of the pencils have broken lead, and I haven't been able to write a single word with them. Complete waste. They're just sitting there because I'm tired of trying to sharpen them.

HORRIBLE. DON'T BUY THESE PENCILS.

The lead keeps breaking on these pencils. I constantly have to sharpen them and I often have to try 3 to 4 times to sharpen before the lead doesn't break again. I wanted the pack to last the school year for my kids but it seems if they will last only a month or two at this rate. I recommend paying a bit more for quality pencils.
