I bought this for my husband for Christmas, but I decided I wanted to try it out. And I'm glad I did! I loved it! Will be buying another one for his ACTUAL Christmas present! Lol.

GREAT drone!

The drone has GPS and can be sent off on flights by itself. And the camera can pan & tilt even though physically it doesn't move.  I suspect it is being replaced by the Bebop II which might explain the price. Like it so much I got a second one to ensure I'd have spare parts.  But this is quite durable. Also, this is a bigger drone and in US you need to register with FAA.

A high-end drone for a great price!

First time drone owner here, and I thought this Bebop drone may be a little difficult to control, kind of like a remote control helicopter, but I was pleaseantly surprised by the ease of control and stability during flight of the Bebop drone. You can literally flight this drone in your home, hover a few inches off the ground, or take it up to 400 feet with ease. It's very helpful to view the training guides from the Bebop (Free Flight 3) app.

PROs
1. Very stable and easy to fly.
2. High def video and images are SUPER SHARP!
3. I love the "Flight Plan" feature (costs additional, I think it was $29, purchased through the app). In my opinion this is the best feature of the Bebop drone. Flight Plan allows you to download real world maps, plot GPS way points and your drone will fly to each point seamlessly. You can tell the Bebop to ascend to particular altitudes and to turn the camera angle at each waypoint. This allows you to fly your drone far outside of it's wifi connectivity range. The drone will actually lose your wifi signal, but it keeps flying to each point, and returns to the starting point, if that's what you initially told it to do.
4. "Home" feature allows you to hit the "Home" button on the app if your drone flies out of sight, or if you feel you're losing control. The drone automatically returns to its launch point!

CONs
1. Battery life is only 11 mins (but the drone does come with 2 batteries). Still, I wish the fly time were longer.
2. This is a small drone, so it's affected more by wind than larger (more expensive) drones.
3. Drone will disconnect from your controller on occasion (I use an I-pad 2 mini). I've had my drone disconnect from between ~200' to 400' away. This isn't an issue when your using pre-assigned waypoints from Flight Plan, but it's a little unnerving when your on manual control.

All in all, a great little drone for the price! Does everything you'd expect it to do, and more!

This little drone is pretty awesome!

We have had the Parrot Bepob since March, we like it so much we are getting one for our son. Easy to use. Fun to fly, and takes awesome pics. One note, watch for hawks, they are very curious. We had to bring our drone out of the sky because a hawk was circling the drone. We did not want the hawk to wreck it..

2nd drone

Awesome quadcopter. While there is some learning curve to flying it, it's a lot of fun once you are comfortable with the controls. The image quality is top-notch. If you're looking for a drone for aerial photography or videography, this one is worth a try in my opinion.

Great product.

This is my first drone. I've found some pretty useful video tutorials on the internet. I learnt one maneuver at a time and after a fairly short while I was flying pretty well. The Bebop is a lot of fun to fly, responsive and easy to control. Besides, there are plenty of settings in the app, that allow you to do some pretty cool stuff with it.

Easy to fly and lots of fun

I really love this drone , is really sick , comes with  seperate controller if you choose to go further with it.  I have one but nothing compares to this . Perfect size and battery last. I totally recommend this one.

Really Freakin Sick

The name is animalistic and the drone is just as feisty with this state of the art machine drone.  It's a standard model but easy to use and navigate.  Any child can use it, as well as adult.

Parrot

I was very excited to find this drone & simply put, I was very disappointed with the product. The listing itself did not accurately describe the full product details, first big example is the fact the drone does not come with a controller. Fortunately for me I do have a phone that was compatible with the app you had to download, but had this been made I would not have purchased this specific drone. The interface for the app control via the screen is cramped & cluttered which in turn makes utilizing all the features impossible. Without a real controller, the ranges advertised by manufacturer are completely irrelevant, I could not find any official range guidelines published for reference & have had to learn the hard way that you have about a 120 ft radius with the phone controller. Once I became familiar enough to fly the drone is when the next issues arose. The batteries last a mear 7-8 mins compared to the advertised 11 mins by manufacturer. As well as little pieces like the rubber landing feet & these circular screws to hold the body stabilizers to body seem to be unable to handle flight or the vibrations from the drone. I see the replacements can be purchased in packages that are horribly over priced. I do think the actual flight & control of the drone is admire able compared to some competitors in the 200-300$ range. For the price of this drone I would expect better performance & some more options such as some running lights to be able to quickly recognize the direction of the drone during flight would be a pretty standard feature as in all aircraft usually does.

The Good
It is slightly cheaper than the DJI phantom and is made of better material. It handled crashes while I was learning to fly. If you are an experienced flyer then I see little reason to purchase this instead of a DJI Phantom. If you are willing to take it slow and do a lot of practice to avoid collisions, then the Phantom is definitely the better product.

The Bad
There is no controller provided unless you purchase the additional $300-500 sky controller. This means you are limited to the wifi sensitivity of the device you run their app on. Most people report being about to fly about 50-300m with their phone or tablet device. Contrast this to the DJI Phantom 3 Standard which has about a half mile range and includes a real controller. The cost of the bebop and sky controller surpases the DJI Phantom 3 standard which is a far superior product with further range, longer battery life, WAY BETTER GPS, imagining and better stability.

The App...The other problem is that the app frequently crashes. If you are in mid flight it can be another 10-30 seconds to reopen the app and hope you can reconnect before the drone moves out of range. While the return home feature does work in most instances, it only takes once to kill your drone good bye. Also the controls in the app are based on the device's gyroscope. Joysticks work way better and allow for more precision in flight so I would definitely recommend researching how to add a game controller to your device or look into an Nvidia shield.

The UGLY
Fly aways! If you check out the Parrot forms you will see multiple reports from users having fly away problems. I have had 2 bebops decide to fly away on me. My first lost connection during flight. After a little bit of time passes the bebop is supposed return to it's launch location. Nope, it sailed off to some magical land and I have never recovered it. The last reported coordinates in the Free Flight app stated that it was nowhere near where I was flying and it went in a totally different direction then all my previous take off spots so where it was going I still have no idea. I spent 8 hour searching for it and finally gave up. The second bebop I got to fly exactly 3 times. This time I created a GPS flight path with Flight Plan (an additional $9.99 purchase for the app), and created a path to help me search for my first drone. The first two flights went flawlessly but I forgot to tell Flight Plan to record. On the third take off my bebop shot up and moved away at an accelerated rate and I quickly lost connection and the drone, even though I was using the same Flight Plan path that I had just run. I was able to thoroughly search the field where the last reported coordinates were and there was no drone. Both times I had GPS lock before starting the flights. Again you can check their forums and other drone enthusiast forums and there are many many reports of fly aways. In other words, your $450-500 can fly away and never return with a moments notice.

I purchased my Bebop on October the 11th. I did a lot of research before buying my drone and there was no mention of the Bebop 2.0 coming out in December. You can verify this by doing a custom range search on google. The new 2.0 Bebop is about 30% faster, and the battery life last twice as long. $450-500 is quite an investment in something that will be outdated in less than two months. Nowhere else in the tech industry does this happen with products around this price point. Think about smart phones that often come in around this range. You know months ahead time when the new one is about to be released. One month notice is unacceptable. Put another way, say you bought a brand new PS4 or XBox One at release when they were $500. Now imagine that two months after purchasing one of these, a previously unannounced next-gen console is released by sony/microsoft for $50 more. People would be flipping out and never buy from that company again. I offered to pay the difference and send in my 1.0 but sadly Parrot has refused. If you were planning to get one of these on black friday DON'T!! It will be outdated by Christmas.

At the end of the day, the Bebop is nice but not at this price point. Once you factor in the cost of a controller the Phantom is leagues ahead and cheaper. I will definitely be returning this and getting a phantom in the next week or so.
