We bought this for our Three year old son, who is tall for his age!! Such a great purchase!! He can load it with wood or rocks and “help” on our farm. 
We kept the safety on for speed for a week or so until he was comfortable with it. Now he speeds around and can backup with no problem. 
We wished some of the parts were made of metal instead of flimsy plastic that heats up in the sun. Overall, lots of fun to be had.

Awesome Gift!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although this comes with pictures as well as written directions, they are atrocious. Confusing and some of the pics are hard to see. I expected more from a John Deere product. I did read other reviews stating the same problem but I thought “how bad can it be”…not terrible but bad. The gator itself is great and my grandson loves it as it looks like PawPaw's side by side. I also fail to see why the price hike from the green gator to the black gator with a ‘roof'.

Solid ride on vehicle. Yea it's made of plastic but it's durable and sturdy. The roof handle bars can move slightly but are solid enough not to break. The yellow passenger handle is solid and cannot be broken by my child. I have a rough strong 2 year old and this vehicle holds up with him in it. My 2 children aged 2 and 4 sit nicely. Four year old has another inch of leg room left so may just fit when he's 5. I do wish there was another inch of room. This vehicle is bigger than any other ride on toy I've seen. The cargo box at back is very roomy can hold lots of things and can be lifted to dump with back door opening down. Only thing it didn't say in instructions was to push down before pulling red loop up to lift back cargo box. This is good feature so child doesn't keep lifting it up while driving. My children love this vehicle and drive it everyday. It's tons of fun. Instructions on putting together are horrible. Battery life is good we charge it every night overnight and it's good for next day. Worth every penny. This gator is the exact same size and body shape as the other two colour schemes, camouflage and green/yellow. The back door does lift up sometimes when I put stuff in back with vibration of driving.. Not the best closing. May contact company about that.  Excellent reverse feature and stick shift control lever. Safety belts are a huge bonus for younger children under 3. Super vehicle. Love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was such a process to put together!! Instructions were sort of awful, but the outcome was really cool!!!! Kiddo was over the moon. He's just 3 so a bit intimidated, but he'll be loving it for years for sure!

unless you have 8 hours set aside, and the patience to watch a youtubbe video 57 yimes to put it together DO NOT BUY. Instructions are minumal, hard to read/understand as it is mostly pictures with no actual instructions to guide you.

spend your money on a gas powered 4 wheeler

The instructions to assemble are very poorly written. The plastic material the entire thing is made out of is very flimsy and cheap. The dump bed handle broke on first use. The dump bed tailgate doesn't shut because the bed is too wide. Not impressed with the overall product for the high price point.

Cheaply made

Pretty cheaply made. Should have at least gone with rubber tires, plastic doesn't grip anything. Even the smallest amount of snow and the tires spin out. Fun for indoor use if you have the space but not a great outdooor toy

-for the price no extras, compared to other brands, multiple speeds, remote control for parents

John deer gator

My problem was the box was open on one end and although it had arrows showing how it should be stored it was upside down. Unsure if all the parts were there. Took pics of the open box snd only had one employee to help
Load even though designated two man
