My 4.5 year old loves it!  Keeps him (and his brother) busy outside!

Pros:  Easy assembly (according to my husband)!  Well made for the most part.  Holds the battery charge pretty well (better than his twin brothers Ford F-150).

Cons:  I wished there were some real dashboard features, not just stickers.  Or that it had working headlights.  I also wished that there was more space between the seat and the dash.  My averaged sized  4.5 year old is a bit squished in it.

However, he loves it and so do we!

Shipping worth the cost as the box is almost 4 feet tall. Would only fit in a pickup truck

You get what you pay for

Mason (2-1/2yrs old at the time) noticed this thing on the sales rack in Oct. Almost weekly until Christmas, we walked past, and in most cases i got it down so he could sit on it. He had a sales flier at home and kept showing it to us, saying "My tractor". Santa finally brought it. It eclipsed all other presents on Christmas day. Every minute that the weather is decent, he's been on his 'Tractor'. We live on a hill and it goes great in 2nd gear. It took almost no time for him to learn to ride it. The battery life is much better than the Motion Trendz 4wheeler i bought one of our other kids a couple years ago. Even with all the uphill riding, he gets about an hour of steady ride time. By the time he loads and unloads the bed, he plays for 2-1/2 to 3 hours at a time.
My only gripe with the whole experience is the assembly instructions. I am a very mechanically inclined person, so logic and the illustrations were good for me to put it together. However, a person who doesn't work on cars regularly or has no experience building things may have trouble with the instructions. The paper explaining what screws go where, is separate from the instruction book and could be overlooked, making assembly a real headache.
All in all, this is the best outdoors toy i've run across. A friend's son has had a Gator for 4 years and still riding it! (very roughly). I can only hope ours gives the same kind of service!

My son's favorite toy....ever! And a great value!

My son got this for Christmas and he just turned three.  He loved driving around and picking up sticks and rocks and dumping them around the yard. The seat does adjust to slide back but not very much so there's not very much leg room. He'll probably be able to drive it comfortably til he's 4. Otherwise, it was a great buy.

Great for my 3 yr old

We got this for my son's second birthday, and he LOVES it! My four year old daughter loves it, too. He is able to drive it everywhere and all through the woods...it even went through a pretty deep swampy area. Definitely an awesome present!!

Perfect product for my 3 year old and 1.5 year old sons. They love to help in the yard and this has been a perfect product for them to help haul plants and small bags of dirt for me. We love it!!!

Overall, the Gator is really great because its made well, is a perfect size for 2 avg size 4-5 yr old boys.  
Pros;
 -The battery lasts a really long time even in the cold temps we`ve been using it in.  The battery has lasted over an hour of constant use...we haven`t fully discharged the battery yet, so we do not know how long it will actually run.
-My son loves having a bed to drive around and put stuff in.  He drives around the yard to help me transport all of the sticks from the trees, puts toys, tools, dirt, etc. in it.  He even drives his pedal bike up to the school track to bike ride! 
-It is very easy for him to drive and operate.  
-It seems very durable so far as he runs over roots, rocks, and peels out quite a bit and the wheels do not seem to be wearing out too quickly and the parts seem to be holding up well.
-Seats 2 kids...my son is social and loves including other people.....many of the cheaper options are single seats or very small 2 seaters.
-Very powerful, almost too much torque....like whiplash start and stops in 2nd gear.

Cons:
If I were asked about things I do not like....there are a few, but the things I like outweigh the negatives;
-No lights or sounds, but that is fine, would drain the battery faster
-Very loud motor and the plastic wheels make it even louder on pavement
-Plastic wheels...why can we not get these with rubber or at least rubber coated wheels???
-Cup holder is too small....what size cup/bottle fits this thing???
-Instructions were worse than IKEA,  and Ive gotten really good with IKEA instructions....I am considered very handy and there were some parts that I had to just scrap the instruction and go with what made sense to get it to work with the materials I had left....they could do better with close up images and written instructions easily
-A battery switch shut-off so I can easily disconnect power so every kid in the neighborhood does not jump on it when my kid steps off.  Also would be nice so I do not get run down while installing the battery. Yes, I know I could tell my kid to get out until the battery is in, but the joy in his smile would also go away....I will just take my chances and probably install my own switch when it warms up.
-Spring shocks would be great.  Many of the cheaper vehicles have them, but maybe they are not very durable or something.
-A lot of torque on the starts and stops....a slow deceleration and start would be nice to keep the wheels from spinning or sliding and my kids head from jerking so much.....not going to lie, he kind of loves it and laughs so much, so this is not that much of a negative.
-Tailgate pops open a lot....bad locking mechanism...there really isnt one, so I will likely add something at some point.

Great vehicle, no regrets, lots of joy!

Received it today and put it together. Took about 2 hours doing it by myself. Seems to be running great. Only severe disappointment is that this states it's for 3-8 year olds in one part of the description and 3-11 year olds in another area. My average height 6 year old barely squeezed in this. He looks like Buddy the elf sitting in it. It does fit our 4 year old well.

Best for age 5 and under

I am totally disappointed. It is for my 5 year old. Wanted something bigger for him. Age range was thru 8 years. He is 55 lbs and 4 ft tall. With the seat all the way back his knees still hit the front dash. Plus the dump feature doesnt work with the seat all the way back. The instructions were not great but I managed to assemble it without having a meltdown. He still loves it but I do not. Really upset he is already too big for something weighted for 2 people equalling 130 lbs and age appropriate 3-8.

Not for kids over 4 ft tall. (Regardless of age)
