[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our back yard is largely shaded by large leafy canopies. Much of the yard rarely sees an ounce of sunshine. We've tried grass seed in the past but I chalked up the lack of success to one of two things. It was either too shady or it was user error. It was probably a combination of both. Our experience with this One Step Dense Shade mix was pretty great! We cleaned up the areas that we were targeting by raking up other lawn debris and loosening up the soil. It has been raining and the ground was moist. After spreading out the seed, I followed up with a good saturation. It's hard to mess it up as the mulch in the mix changes color when its watered sufficiently. I had a patch in the sun that needed more consistent watering because it dried more quickly. I fell down on that job and it didn't grow. This just drives home the point that regular watering really is a critical step in the success of this grass growth. The shady areas that I watered twice daily (mostly) did quite well. A few spots were more dense than others. What I know is that I will absolutely use this again in the spring! It's as close to fool-proof as one can get.

Very easy to use as directions and i dont need to care anything after that since the product already includes seed, mulch and fertilizer. I will stock more for next season!!!

It helped my grass look so much better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The One Step Complete Dense Shade Patch and Repair Grass Seed Mix worked great to fix bare spots in my yard. I have always found it hard to repair the shade spots in my yard after my three boys are trampling around but this mix seemed to do the trick. It was easy to spread and has filled in nicely. I did not use a spreader as the spots were easily covered just spreading with my gloved hands. I would recommend this for high shade yards needing fill in coverage. I am highly satisfied with the results after using this and will definitely buy again if needed for bare spots in my yard.

I used it in a shady area of my yard where grass never seemed to grow, and within a couple of weeks I started seeing healthy green patches filling in. It's super easy to use-just spread, water, and wait. I didn't even have to baby it much. The coverage was great, and the grass looks thick and soft now. Simple Fix for Patchy Lawns

It didn't care for the Alabama red Clay but one we got a nice, blended soil it did great. 2. To be a shade grass, it doesn't care for temperature b to be below 60.

So I tried 2 more times thinking that maybe since it had cooled down it was too cold the first time and then it rained quite a bit a few days after the second time so I tried a third time.
