They are nice and the birds are able to get the feed easily, but I feel I paid twice what they were actually worth.

walmart.com

My husband has been wanting a bird feeder since last summer. I'm into mason jar crafts and was showing him photos of DIY mason jar bird feeders one day. He really liked them.
I ran across this feeder one day while searching the web and Walmart had the lowest price so I decided to buy him one as a Christmas gift. He loves it!
It's a pretty, blue, vintage style mason jar which screws onto a small chick feeder. The bottom of the chick feeder has a wire base which serves as a perch for the birds as they eat.
The top of the jar (it's actually the bottom) also has a wire wrapped under a lip with a looped handle for attaching chain or cord for hanging.
This feeder will hold 1 pound of bird seed and is easy to fill and clean.
You could put the jar in the dishwasher to sterilize before filling it with seed for the first time.
It will take time at first for birds to find the feeder but be patient. Once they do they'll come back for feeding again.
Wish it included chain for hanging but you can find #16 jack chain and snap spring hooks fairly cheap.
We really like this feeder and plan to purchase the matching waterer.

Love this feeder!

We already had a feeder like this one and loved it (so do the birds!). The squirrels knocked it down and it hit a rock, chipping the top of the jar. It still screws onto the base, but we wanted to have a spare in case the squirrels succeed in breaking it.

Great feeder

The larger base is good for the Blue Jays they have trouble landing and feeding on my other birdfeeders.

GREAT!!!

This worked excellent for me because I do not have to fill my old feeders every day, also they are very easy to clean.

Perky-Pet Mason Jar Wild Bird Feeder

very large and heavy too, its build solid
like a mason jar and metal tray holds plenty of seeds own 3ea

very happy with this use birds see and cracks corn. useful for raisen chicks too large open for them too

beautiful reasonable n desirable n effective feeder for birds good construction but would benefit from th including of an s hook or something to attach n adhere unit to hook or tree for u

superb

I love it's easy to clean and popular with smaller birds however it has 2 see short comings, there is a lot of seed waste when putting bottom on and hanging.
the other shortcoming is Cardinals ,blue Jays and grosbeaks won't use it.

love it , but.......

The feeder looked cute, but I was concerned about how well it would hold up in bad weather (hail). Also, after looking at it, it seemed like it was going to be a real pain to reassemble after filling. I returned it.

Returned

It's beautiful but the design is flawed.
There's no way to actually fill the WHOLE bird feeder because you attach the base, about half of the seed drops to the bottom, leaving only half left for the birds

Perky-Pet Mason Jar Wild Bird Feeder with 1 lb capacity, featuring an antique blue embossed glass jar, galvanized steel base with eight feeding ports and circular perch for 360-degree bird access, and a wide-mouth opening for easy filling and cleaning.
