This is my 2nd time getting this product. The dogs( yorkie pups 2 days old) have no issue with ingesting  it. Just make sure to remember its 1 part powder, 2 parts water. So if u use 1 scoop of powder, u put 2 scoops of water. Make sure to blend well. No clumps. Highly recommend this!!!

This was recommended for abandoned baby squirrels. It was a life saver for the little guy whose eyes weren't open yet found outside our door. He is now wild again but visits for some  attention and nuts (hazel nuts are his favorite with 2nd being walnuts) every morning.

This is the best milk for newborn babies and puppies to supplement their diet. 
I add this to my puppy food when I feed them before they're fully weaned so they get extra protein and extra nutrition.

My sister used this previously with abandoned puppies she loved it.  I've now been using it for a week since my puppies mom has passed. The puppies are full they have better sleep they're growing beautifully. It's is expensive for me but you get what you pay for the other one was running right through them. Will use this formula until they're on solids

We're on the weaning stage for the first (unplanned and only, long story) litter of puppies. Esbilac was the number 1 recommended in terms of necessary nutrition they would need. And since this litter wasn't planned, I wanted the pups to have the best paw forward.

The powder mixed very well and didn't appear too watery and easily turned the puppy kibble into a sort of gruel that is recommended since their teeth are still coming in. A food processor was used to make it quicker, but the kibble still softened up quickly with the Esbilac formula alone.

Most of the puppies were hesitant cause it wasn't their Mama there to nurse them, but they all did take to it after the first one started chowing down! Clearly, it smelled/tasted familiar enough to them because their first day with it went surprisingly well.

It's a little bit pricey but worth it when you consider it's saving a little life. Seemed to meet nutritional needs without causing digestive issues.

Puppy Lifesaver

The babies love this milk and they are growing up fast

Mother Dachshund had to have emergency surgery (perforated uterus) when pups were 5 days old...no choice but to wean them immediately. Bought Esbilac elsewhere 12 oz. for $25. Found it best to add to lukewarm water and stir to break up any lumps, 1 part to 2 parts water. Mix up just enough for one feeding...puppies don't seem to relish "leftovers". Found this on WalMart page for $9.88 and ordered two more "cans". Needed two more. Price had risen to $10.97 and image is different, but still beats PetsMart's $25.99 Internet price.
And the puppies? 18 days old now, and tubby little butterballs, thanks to Esbilac! 
Pictures: Puppies at 2 days (before Esbilac), and 11 days later. Mom is wearing a body suit (human baby "onesie" altered to fit) to make sure the pups did not nurse...she was still on antibiotics. BTW, she did everything for them except nurse them! SUPER mother!

The consistency is thick after a couple of hours go by in the bowl. I had to add a little more water even after following the instructions after a couple of hours. Seems to thicken. 
I used  regular Sam's water to make the puppy milk. 
Did not use tap water. 
The ready made esbilac seems better. My puppy likes the ready made better than the powdered milk.

It's okay if you're trying to save a little money!
