Both of my cats were suffering health problems due to not drinking enough water. With the temperature consistently 25 degrees and over they really needed some hydration. The sticking point was still water sitting in a  bowl, even though it was changed daily.   Missi was especially obstinate and wanted the taps turned on for her. When her fresh rain fountain arrived, she started drinking at it immediately. She found three spots at which to drink: out of the bowl, out of the lid and from the fountain stream itself. She's smitten. So, hopefully there will be no more episodes of cystitis  in our joint future. My younger cat is much more cautious about the fountain and I'm still waiting for her to try it; but as it's much better than bowl water, I'm sure she'll come round soon.  The battery-powered fountain is great as the cats don't have power points in their areas. I recommed getting rechargeable batteries and a battery recharger, which you can get reasonably priced. I was looking for a Cordless Pet Water Fountain, Petmate's Fresh Flow Rain Fountain is really good, the design and also the size to hold a good amount of fresh and flowing water is enough for a day taking in consideration my 02 medium size yorkshires, it's almost noiseless, the battery saving function is a very welcomed addition to the device, pumping water only when needs.

Best Cordless Pet Water Fountain

Makes it easy to keep my 2 furbabies well hydrated. When it is draining into the water dish, they are fascinated with it and will sit and watch it for minutes. They also like to wash their front paws in it.  Thanks

My cats love it!  It's a little awkward to clean but worth the effort.   The batteries last months in it as well.  Perfect for outside.

I bought this for my cat and I really like it. It was easy to assemble and works great!

Great product

This fountain provides my cat with a lot of entertainment. She comes running when she hears it switch on and loves to watch the water go up the funnel and out the spout. I love that it runs on batteries. It's very convenient. I do wish it was a little easier to assemble. It takes a few times to get the tubing in place.

Kitty Intrigue

The fountain runs well. Took my cat a little bit to get used to it. I'm not sure exactly what the filter is supposed to filter. I expected it to completely filter the water & I would have to clean a filter every so often. As it turns out, cat hair is left floating in the water every time the filter cycles.  I have to dump out the bowl & wipe it out with towels every couple of days.

At least I don't have to plug it in to an outlet

I have had it for 2 weeks and she has not yet figured out she can drink from it.  It is noisy and she is startled by the noise.  It is great to have a battery powered fountain (my landlord is happier) but we'll see if my cat ever gets up the courage to drink from it.

So disappointed in this waterer. It was not only a pain to put together, it only worked for the first day. I plan to return it and stick with the Drinkwell Platinum and new gravity waterers. I do have to say, though, that if you get one that actually works, they are silent.
