This air fryer's cost may not match its features and performance.

I hesitated to buy this due to the price but I am glad I made the decision to go ahead with the purchase. It has a permanent place on my counter so I will use it often. It is so easy to use and clean up is a breeze. I have made chicken, country pork ribs, meatballs, fries, sliced potatoes, and a few other recipes. Everything comes out perfectly. I've only had it a couple of weeks so I'm still experimenting. Cookbooks with illustrations are hard to find although it does come with a small one to get you started. I bought the double rack and used it to make 2 pounds of meatballs. 15 minutes and done!! I recommend this XXL model for maximum cooking area.

What a time saver!

When I ordered this product I suspected that I may have bought something that may be a gimmick. Far from that I discovered that this is one of the best tools in my kitchen. It cooks with rapidly moving hot air and little or no oil. I made scotch eggs using pork and black pudding sausage meat. I used breadcrumb and oatmeal for the coating. Each being the size of a tennis ball, I placed three eggs in the basket and cooked them on 180 deg. I was able to shake them in the basket occasionally and the results were lovely. This is not a frier but a mini turbo fan oven with a system to collect excess fat produced from cooking. I love it.

Great results from a good design and easy to use.

As part of an overall effort to improve my eating habits, I invested in this device. Generally speaking, I am amazed at the myriad functions it can perform, and do them well.

For example, I have "broiled" steaks and they came out perfect. I made flatbread pizzas that were delicious. I cooked an entire chicken; the meat was juicy and tender. 

My first attempt at french fries did not quite measure up to lofty expectations. I take the blame for most of it, because I loaded up the basket with slices from 7 potatoes and overcooked them a little. We had company that evening and I wanted to make sure we had enough. When the allotted cooking time had expired, I tested the results and didn't think the outside was crunchy/crispy enough - so I let 'er rip for another 4 minutes. The innards, however, were perfect. Unfortunately, the additional cooking detracted from the quality of the product - the outside seemed to have lost what little crunchiness it had, and the fries had evolved into a rubbery texture. Next time, I'll prepare fewer potatoes and am confident that this will improve the result.

I look forward to many years of airfrying with this device. As I noted on my social media feed, with props to Humphrey Bogart, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Wonder machine!

Purchased the original Philips Airfryer when it first came out. Didn't find much use for it in the first year or more. Then we started to use it for lots of things and the only problem was that it was too small. Saw another company advertising an airfryer oven with three racks for cooking at the same time. This seemed like the perfect solution until i read customer reviews of this product and found that they worked great for a few months and then broke because they were flimsy. So i saw the Philips XXL and reviews that called it reliable, sturdy, etc. We keep the airfryer on the counter now and use it frequently for grilled Chicken, grilled avocado, roasted sweet bell peppers, etc etc. My only complaint is that while it has a 9 inch square cooking surface, it is still rather small when cooking for a family of 4 so i wish it was bigger. The XL has a rack that gives you two levels of cooking and it sounds like either this fits the XXL or it has its own, but the basket is not very deep to do two levels. Bottom line, easy to use, healthy cooking on the XXL is great.

Upgraded to XXL

This is an awesome appliance! A must have in any kitchen. I have done chicken wings (3 times.....and I have never cooked chicken wings before in my life), chicken breast, homemade french fries (they turn out awesome!), and pork chops! I can't say enough great things about this! And all without added oil!

OMG!!!

When I ordered the Philips Air Fryer XXL I was skeptical about the claims I saw on TV. Since it has been in my home (over two months) I have cooked almost every evening meal in it. My husband and I think it makes the best fried chicken ever. Without using breading the skin is so crisp and the chicken is so tasteful. We really like the way the steaks and pork chops turn out. This Air Fryer makes cooking when I get home from work so easy. The clean up is a breeze. Just soak in hot water while we're eating and it wipes clean.

Wonderful

While I'm excited to continue to use this appliance, have used it once to cook a roast. Was kinda disappointed with the infomercial, not a lot of instruction on use, but the use of air frying instead of oil frying continuously throughout the program, not really a lot of instruction on how to use. The instruction book(s) that came with it are VERY VERY confusing and many of the items mentioned in the program are not even in the booklets/instructions. So I am very disappointed in that.

Difficult to use

After some 10 months of usage, i found the casing starting to distort as the unit does not close "flushed" smooth with the nice contour/profile, especially on left hand side (LH).  This means the very sharp corner/edge protrudes out, which can be a hazardous issue for handling/cleaning.  Not sure how this has been developed and I am somewhat concerned that the unit may not close properly in the future.

Smokes bad when cooking fatty meats. I have to put it on my stove and turn on vent to keep smoke alarm in house from coming on and smoking up the entire house. Constantly draining the grease is a pain. Have had it about two months and all the numbers on the front indicating minutes to cook are gone. Would not recommend if you want to cook fattier foods.
