I got this at the same time as the longer main unit & I'm glad I did. It was the perfect length for replacing old buzzing fluorescent lights in the trimmed out balcony enclave area around the vaulted / sloped ceiling in the finished first floor office. I normally leave the whole high wall to purple - pink. Much brighter than I thought they were going to be! I would buy another extension to wrap around the wings of the paneled balcony.

Replacement for Home Office Fluorescents

PhilipsHue

Used for up light and couldn't be happier with the result. Very bright and the color options are a lot of fun to experiment with. Easy to install including the extension. Couldn't be happier!

Philips Hue's gradient light strip rocks!

Products get 5-stars. They are AWESOME.

However - ordering 3 at a time for an order of 120+ units was a bit daunting. If there was a B2B portal or a section for larger orders, that would be idea.

Great Product, Ordering Experience Could be Better

Beautiful lights, love that I can adjust to the exact colors I want. Also great that I can have them turn on automatically at sunset and fade off at a specified time.

Beautiful

Love the enhancement for multicolored variation along the strip.

Great lightstrip

Amazing in the dining room to set the mood for your perfect meal.

Flexible and dynamic with amazing color.

Has a sorta easy setup, however, just make sure to plug in power and add the lightstrip to your HUE bridge after connecting the extension, otherwise it won't turn on the extension.

There are two issues I've run into with these extensions. The first is that Phillips only has 40" extensions. To cover the area I was working with, I had to get 3 extensions (and probably need 1 more). One extension is fine, but any more than that make it a bit more tedious when you're installing them. You have to worry about accidentally bending the pins as you're installing them, and they might disconnect from each other as you're putting them up. Having an 80" lightstrip would've made this a little bit easier, because I already needed to cover a larger space, and would eliminate more points of failure. Please add larger extensions. This isn't a big ask.

The other issue was with the HUE sync program on PC. The program wasn't using the entire lightstrip and extensions when synced up with it. At least, not at first. It eventually started working, but I have no clue why, and I don't know if the issue will return in the future. So kinda a big issue, especially if you have one of the HUE HDMI sync boxes, as it uses the same entertainment areas to sync with.

Needs optimized & larger extension sizes

Be very careful in the application in which you use these lights. it is not like the light strip, the gradient strips you can only bent a little bit, or they completely die. I bought these to go underneath my kitchen cabinets and it completely cut off the remaining of the LED lights at the end of the strip by about 6 inches!

Don't bend them! So sad

Came with a broken pin. in the process of getting a replacement from product support team, love the 80 inch base but wish you shipped wall clips with your products as the adhesive backing is absolutely inadequate

2nd product I've bought that was broken out of box
