An unexpected and unusual Christmas present but most welcome. Easy to get used to after a couple of uses and does what it claims to do.

The Satinelle is fantastic! I love that I can use it in the comfort of my own home and don't need to make an appointment days or weeks in advance of when I'm looking to remove unwanted hair. At first it feels a little prickly, but after about 10 seconds, you become used to it and the results are seriously fantastic. Plus, I didn't need to use it again for about three weeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Satinelle Advanced Wet and Dry Epilator is a fantastic product that makes shaving your legs so much easier and is far better than shaving. It's ceramic discs pluck out the finest of hair to leave you with nice smooth legs for a longer time than shaving. It's easy to use and not at all painful though I do recommend using it whilst wet rather than on dry skin, the Epilator comes with a easy to understand instructions manual and a neat little bag which is great for travelling or to store it in. I highly recommend the Philips Sanitelle Advanced Wet snd Dry Epilator, doesn't break the bank to buy it's reasonable price tag is worth every penny for excellent results every time

No more cutting your legs with this product

I've been a Philips epilator fan for a long time so when my previous model broke, it was no question that I wouldn't be buying Philips again. Unfortunately, I'm disappointed by this model. Whilst quieter (lovely in comparison with previous model), it doesn't grab hairs or pulls them well enough. I find myself having to go over the same area 5 or 6 times before the hair is out. Which is painful and makes epilation last much much longer. It's also slighly inefficient in comparison with previous model as it has less blades so it can cover a smaller area at any one time. I find it works ok on curved areas but really poorly on straighter ones. Wish it came with a second appliance for smooth areas or something like this, just like the previous model came with a smaller appliance for delicate areas.
I'm disappointed this time, this model needs improvement in my opinion.

Disappointed with this model

I can't say I love this product but maybe it would work well for others. The one thing I found is that is much too large for my body I found it very difficult to put the head under my underarms even while I was stretching the skin so I found I was missing areas of hair. It worked quicker for areas such as my legs but I found that my leg hair was maybe to thin so it wouldnt really grab the hairs. Overall I'm  sad to say I haven't used it as much as I intended for these reasons

To large for my body

Looked fancy, but tried several times at the same spot, the tweezers lift wasn't able to grip the hair, not any better than my old epilator which I have used for 10 years.

I would try something else.

I was really excited to try this product but I was disappointed in the results. I tried it on several body parts both in and out of the shower. I gauged my pain (0= no pain, 5=poor wax job) and the results considering how much hair was removed (0= no hair removed, 5= all hair removed leaving smooth results) 

About me: I am white and with medium skin tone. I`d say I have average hair growth. 

Legs-I typically shave my legs, I stopped shaving for 3 days before using
-Pain= 2
-Hair removal= 2
-I used this on my one leg and went over it several times. It did pull out some hair but not all. I did not have any red bumps after but when I went in the pool the next day I felt and very mild burning sensation from the chlorine but even after no bumps. I tried it in the shower on the other leg as well but the results were the same

Underarm- typically shave
Pain= 3 
Hair removal= 3 
I used this on one underarm dry and the other wet. Pain for both was the same. I had to go over my underarm about 10 times to see any substantial results but it did not remove it all and did not leave it smooth or hairfree. 

Bikini line- typically shave
Pain- 6(!!!!) 
Hair removal- 4
NO. Just, No! I only made it about an inch before I was in too much pain. Not worth it! I tried holding the skin taught, used in the shower, but still too painful.

Arms- Don`t use hair removal, hair is fine and blonde.

This worked pretty well on my arms, probably because the hair was longer and thinner so less pain removing it. It still did not remove all the hair. 

Upper lip= typically wax about every 6-8 weeks (last wax about 1 month ago)

This worked very well for a quick touch up for upper lip. It removed the darker thicker hair but left the light peach fuzz. It probably worked well because I wax normally. 

I tried the electric shaver and was very dissatisfied. I used it on my legs and underarms; it left my legs and underarm still stubbly and the hair was noticeable still.

Good if you wax regularly

A very bad design, does not do the only thing what it's supposed to do - pull the hair out. Slow and take about 12 goes to pull a single strand of hair, or not at all, so i have to take twisters out! Different angles or speed makes no difference. Sad and frustrating that i spent so much money on a useless thing.

Not satisfied with the purchase

I returned the Philips epilator because it was not effective at removing hair. I had been using a Braun epilator for at least 7 years, and had been satisfied with the ease of use, and effectiveness of the unit. I needed to replace the epilator head, so instead decided to get a new epilator. I purchased the Philips and was very surprised and disappointed that it was not effective at removing hair.

Not effective

This is a waste of money. First of all, you have to go over the area at least three times to get anything close to all the hair out. And now, after a few months of regular use, the tweezers are constantly sticking. Every 30-60 seconds, the epilator starts making this awful noise because the mechanism is stuck and I have to force it to rotate in the proper direction.

And, for the short period of time it did function, the power button is located in a position that places it directly under your fingers, which means it inadvertently gets turned off. 

Terrible product. I've gotten rid of it and am looking for something worth my money. Stay far away.
