I've tried various shavers, including Philips, in the past and always found them to cause skin irritation so reverted back to wet shaving. I was really cautious about buying this shaver as I'd always thought the lift and cut feature caused rashes and ingrown hairs. After watching online views I chose this shaver and have been really impressed with it. No rash, no irritation, just a gentle and reliable close shave with very few if any missed hairs. Haven't wet shaved for weeks now and am not going back.

Best shave ever. Only issue I have is the instructions are not very clear in how the small display works and how to start the cleaning process. I assume that using diagrams only in the instructions is to save money when selling to many countries. But this does not help me as i need to wear glasses to see what the display is indicating. These issues my only apply to me but better clarity in the instructions would help.

Great shave but instructions could be better

Absolutely love my Philips shaver .  I bought the Philips prestige, then bought the prestige ultra  while they were half price . The ultra has more settings , ultimately the sensitive setting as first few shaves with the prestige my neck got sore . I was shaving neck last when blades warm , now I shave my neck first no problem. I like to use my new shavers alternately, swapping weekly . I really like the shaver cleaner and meticulously clean and look after my shavers and hope they last me a long time.

Was a beard man , now I'm a Philips shaver convert

Loyal customer who appreciates all the improvement

I'm 53, I have always wetshaved because I have sensitive skin & I've never found an electric razor that didn't irritate my skin. I decided to try this as my first "wet & dry" razor. What a game changer! There is no irritation & I get a perfectly smooth shave.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchasing this shaver was a perfect surprise. I was looking for replacement blades for my Series 6000 that was several years old. I found that this one on sale and without having to purchase the blades for the other unit, it wasn't  much more that I needed to spend to get the top of the line model.  I started reading about the features of better units and purchased the Series 9985. It had more features that I thought i needed and some of the reviews were suspect.  After 42 days, I really enjoy using the product each day.  The light feature reduces the time it takes to shave since it tells me that I should press harder and not just be gliding over and over again.  The light also warns me if I am pressing too hard.  This feature would be good it someone was shaving another person in a nursing home. The trimmer also works so much better than the separate unit of my old shaver.  The head cleaner is very easy to use and doubles as a holder for the shaver. I have no problem getting close to my nose as some people expressed issues. I didn't expect to be so pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to a friend.

Many Good Surprises with this Shaver

I have used a lot of different shavers through out my life, but this electric shaver has given me the closest shave I ever had. I love the app GroomTribe which shows you how to get the best shave within 3 mins.What is also impressive is the accessory to clean the shaver after each shave which I believe is a must.Well done Philips.

This Philips Shaver is the best electric shaver

I have only buy philips electric razors. But this new I nine thousand is amazing.. i also like the cleaning bath that comes with it. My old razor used to get such a nasty smell to it.After my facial, oils be on it and I'd take me forever to clean it. But after each use, I clean out the hair and then place it on top of the cleaner. This makes my razor fresh and clean every time I love that.  I get a nice clean shave every time. It also as wifi to connect to my phone to keep track of it. One of the nicest razors, i've owned so far.

Shavetastic Razor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the saver about 6 months, and the charging screen failed. I sent in for replacement, and it came no issues. The charger stand also stopped working. I wet shave and find that I need to shake the bottom and let air dry all day and then in evening set the shaver on the stand. I watch for corrosion on the bottom on shaver and on the stand and clean this off as it builds up on the copper connectors.

Purchased this shaver since blades for my older Phillips were discontinued as has been the case with Phillips on all my previous Phillips shavers. Shaver was on sale and the price was right. I was able to order the adapter from Phillips so I can charge the shaver from a regular plug. I find the gap between the heads sometimes catch on my chin. I am pleased with the closeness of the shave that this shaver delivers. The cleaning station is easy to use. I hope Phillips doesn't discontinue the cleaning solution like they did to the previous version.
