[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased a few Phillip Sonicare toothbrushes over the past. Recently, I purchased DiamondClean 9000 HX9911 in January 2026 and had trouble getting it to work until April 2026 at which point I contacted Phillips Sonicare and they exchanged my defective DiamondClean 9000 HX9911 with a new one which works!

I am very pleased with the performance of the toothbrush.
My teeth feel very clean are brushing with this toothbrush. 

My only complaint is that after purchasing this brush, I feel that a tongue brush should have come with this model. I know some models have it.

Diamond Clean Smart Electric Toothbrush

I have been using diamond clean for years and I credit my excellent oral care to it. I really don't use the coaching because I don't need to but what a great idea for those who do. This pink one matches my bathroom and makes me happy. My teeth just sparkle and contain zero plaque. Thank you Phillips for taking such good care of my teeth. This is the wisest investment one can make to ones general appearance and well being. Years ago I had dental assistants match crowns to the color of my teeth. I wish I would have requested whiter crowns. There is no better proof than that, PHILLIPS rocks.

This is the best toothbrush i've ever had. It supplies the critical feedback I need to know how well i'm brushing and the problem areas I miss. The visual component as I brush  is very helpful. After just 2 weeks of use, I got the best dental checkup ever: no plaque, very little tartar and healthy gums. I plan to make this toothbrush a Christmas gift for all my kids and grandkids.

Important Feedback

The toothbrush has a superb cleaning result. The battery doesn't last as long as my old cheaper electric toothbrush and the replacement heads are a little pricey. I guess if you want a really good cleaning, I have to pay for the OEM replacement heads

Crazy clean, just like the dentists office.

I've been pleased with the toothbrush and its many features. However, I am confused about when to replace the brush head. The very brief brochure describing the features only mentions that an icon will appear when it's time to replace the brush head. There's no mention of what the icon looks like. My brush head is getting worn but I haven't seen any icon other than the "Clean" light flashes when I finish brushing, but I don't know if that's the one telling me to change the brush head. Also the battery light goes on and off when it's time to charge, but again that isn't mentioned in the brochure, so I just figured it out intuitively.

Very good toothbrush but sketchy documentation

It's good don't get me wrong but I find the heads are very large so hard to reach the back of your mouth,
Considering the price I would expect a bit more from the toothbrush although it does clean very well once you get used to just how powerful the vibration is, it would be nice if there was a smaller possibly round or oval shaped head available (like my previous oral b) as that seemed a much more convenient size for harder to reach areas. The app is more of a gimmick that I used 2/3 times at the beginning but not much after a month or 2 and it doesn't always detect the correct position you are at, the area timer also doesn't really give enough time on each area to get all around the teeth,

Not perfect but a good toothbrush

I had a diamondclean for a couple of months that stopped working properlt adter a drop in the sink. I dis not register it for warantee protection and was a little disappintef that it was so succeptible yo famage by such a little mishap
Nevertheless, i liked how it cleaned and bought another
I find the iphone stnc business to be nothing more than a silly gimmick, and find your repeated prompts to synch my brushjead on the phone to be annoying
Also, i liked the old brush's four X 30 second timing prompt cycle
The new one seems to have six or more 20 second prompts
It seems to be irregular, and one stopwatch experiment the cycles lasted for over 2.5 minutes. That is too long, and the multiple changes are a distraction. I find myself losing track and wondering, was that 4 or 5? Then shutting it down. 4 cycles - and two minutes seened easier to deal with and 2-minutes seemed plenty

Cycle duration too long long

I was super excited to get this toothbrush from all of the great reviews I read previously, but I am disappointed with a few of its features. When using the toothbrush, the timing is never long enough.

When using the "count down feature/where you should be brushing" on the app, it always says I missed two sections of my teeth after following the instructions. It has a set time for each section, so it runs out of time before getting to all of the sections of the mouth. Why wouldn't the brush timer last long enough to get every section of the mouth? This has caused me to use the toothbrush at least two times every time I brush, meaning I brush my teeth "twice" in the morning and "twice" at night. 

This causes the brush heads to get used up so quickly --because they tell you to change it after 180 uses. (Otherwise it reminds you every day it needs to be changed!) Divide that by 4 and it will only last 45 days. For the price of the brush heads, these toothbrushes should be lasting longer than just 45 days. I am disappointed I paid so much for this product and have to continually pay for the expensive brush heads so often.

Too short of brushing time

I loved my sonicare toothbrushes over the years, but when it died, which all of mine have in about 2 years, I got the new one. I want to go back to the old one. Who cares if it flashes on the bottom and I could care less if there's an app, I just want my teeth to be and feel clean, and I think the diamond version I had before all the flashing was better. My teeth felt cleaner.

Don't like the newer version

Ive had Sonicare toothbrushes since they first came out and we have always loved them. I ordered 2 of the new Black diamond (improved) brushes. In less than 2 weeks one stopped charging. Ive never had such awful quality from Phillips. But there are too many choices out there now to throw away more money.
